Apologies if this is covered elsewhere, I did some searching and couldn't find a thread. I recently purchased a used Model C, with a PM2 monitor attached. The monitor powers on fine, but does not register the flywheel. I purchased a replacement pickup in hopes this was the problem.
Maybe I'm not as bright as I like to think, or just terribly mechanically disinclined, but the pictographic pickup replacement instructions are not comprehensible to me, and I don't want to just start removing bolts from the rower. Is anyone aware of alternate instructions posted anywhere, or maybe a nice instructional video? I Googled several search term variations and came up empty.
Thanks,
Frank

http://www.concept2.com/us/support/manu ... cement.pdf are the only instructions I know of.
Although it's quite likely that the PM2 is dead due to broken tracks on the circuit board. See http://www.c2forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=11589

Citroen,
Those are the pictographic instructions which make no sense to me.
There's no corrosion at the battery contacts, so I'm hoping it's not that.

Re: Monitor Pickup Installation
Its not the battery contacts that kills PM2, its corrosion on the board, often under the A/D chip.QFit wrote:Citroen,

Re: Monitor Pickup Installation
The flywheel sensor on a model C is just a coil of wire.
It should measure 100 Ohms so it's either ok or it's open circuit. Wiggle the cord by the plug as you test it as this is where it is most likley to fail.
The monitor is more likley going to be the problem. Try an find another Model C and plug it in, changing the sensor is a pain in the ass.
Alternatively you just plug the new sensor into the PM2 and wave a magnet in front of the face of the sensor and anything up to 1inch away and the monitor should turn on. Thats my "Standard" bench test for the PM2 tach input sensor sensitivity.
