Congrats on your first million!

Have you already requested your complimentary incentive 1 million meter Concept2 tee shirt? Free stuff is great, as are C2 and their various motivations.

Yes, i have already sent in my request. This team and all of it's members have have been a big motivation for me to keep rowing. I do not post very often but i read this forum every day.

While the team was busy putting in a little over 1.1 Million Meters into the team meter piggy bank over the weekend...celebrating Dan S's induction into the million meter club...I was working on some bike meters with a few thousand others! There were more jerseys that said "I ride with MS" this year than in previous years. During the first years of this jersey's availability, only a few brave souls wore them. The response to the riders with MS wearing jerseys proclaiming this was so overwhelmingly positive that it inspired other riders with MS to also wear them. Some ride recumbent bikes, some ride with a battery assist bike, and some are on the traditional road bikes. Very inspirational - especially when these riders pass you going up hills !

Many of the Lunies also participate in similar events whether running, walking, cycling, leaping off tall buildings (Baz's abseiling)...and I would bet that everyone finds that they are events that challenge the whole person...and end up inspiring you to go just that little bit further. It was a great ride...overcast the first morning, and then very toasty throughout the ride. I was ever so delighted to cross the finish line with my teammates one more time. And, yep, I definitely have some protesting muscles today! Here are a few photos of the event:

Image There's about 4,000 ft of climbing in the two days -- with day one culminating in a climb over Horsetooth Reservoir near Ft Collins. There are some sweet downhills.

Image The ever-present porta potty line...

Image Morning of the second day, as we wind our way up the base of Horsetooth Reservoir

Image The line of bikes going at that 6 to 11 percent incline up the Reservoir roadway...in between trucks with trailers and boats...yikes!

Image There were five or six bucks watching the line of bicycles creep up the canyon..
Image And finally, the top of Horsetooth..whether approaching it from east or west....you've got a climb to get there! Uff da!

And now....the stats!

Season meters as of 58/365 = 16,650,979 m

Total meters on the weekend = 1,143,237 m

Oars in space (participation) = 50 percent !!! Woot!! Most excellent!

I finally talked my Mom into getting a rowing machine and it arrived yesterday. By this weekend, I hope to have my Mom, Dad, maybe a couple sisters and brother in laws signed up on the team. I'm going back home over the weekend and will get them registered online. Plus, I can take my logcard home with me and log some meters over the long holiday weekend.

The last week has been rough for me, but I think I'm turning a corner. After having to go to the ER to cauterized the blood vessel that came unclotted last week (following my tonsillectomy), I've just had so little energy. Makes me a little curious about how much blood I lost. Oh well, I'm hanging in there.

Congrats to all those with milestones. Keep up the good work!
