Ouch! Don't know if this applies to you (since I don't even know if it came from your rowing), but an Elbow Primer:
About 70% of the power for rowing needs to come from your legs, about 20% from your body, and the remaining 10% from your arms. Even then, it needs to be almost all shoulders until the end of the stroke. At the beginning of the stroke, some rowers do a fast wrist twist to start the momentum, and almost all rowers do a fast pull for the last few inches of the stroke so that the flywheel spins faster (or the boat glides faster) during the "recovery" part of the stroke - neither of which are terribly hard on the elbows.
Most elbow problems come from either a. a weak or open grip, b. too tight or "encircling" grip, c. snapping the elbow out at the end of stroke to get ready for the next stroke, or d. not pulling smoothly "into" the stroke, instead sending shock waves up the arms into the body.

Holding your hand out and open, is it on the inside, outside, top or bottom of the elbow?
Inside: Lateral epicondylosis, "tennis elbow"
Outside: Medial epicondylosis, "golfer's elbow"
Top: Biceps tendinosis
Bottom: Triceps tendinosis
(Now, Google the diagnosis & learn about it.)

For prevention, the main thing is (in order of diagnosis): grip exercises, grip exercises, biceps curls, triceps extensions.
Inside & outside are the more likely injuries, and the only thing they do is anti-inflammatories, and cortisone (or other steroid) shots if they aren't improving quickly.

In the meantime, hold the handle firmly but not too tight, keep your elbows slightly bent through almost the entire stroke, and work on smoothly pulling into the momentum the flywheel (or boat) already has.

Hope that helps you - or someone else on the team with aching elbows...

It's unlikely my elbow issue came from rowing since I wasn't rowing when it started. Thanks for the information, Izz! I need to work in those preventive exercises you mentioned in my workouts.
