Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
A coworker just came back from visiting his sister in Australia. He brought back the infamous Vegemite, but I did not have the courage to try it when it was offered to me. I have it in my mind that it's going to taste like cat food. I'm almost never afraid to try new foods, but this one has me psyched out.

It sounds more like a mixture of diesel fuel and rancid peanuts. No offense Bazz. Although I have retreated to the bomb shelter.BigBrett58 wrote:A coworker just came back from visiting his sister in Australia. Kona2 was a really good sport about sampling Marmite, but I'm guessing it was the first and last try for her! Unless you're an Aussie or a Brit, Vegemite vs. Marmite is similar to Coke vs. Pepsi. When I said I had a jar of Marmite that was older than our President, I almost wasn't kidding ... the sell-by date was long gone ... but, hey, that stuff is never going to go bad and it fueled our walk along Pacific Beach in San Francisco.Kona2 wrote:
Also, during this strange California weather which is more like February than June, it should be noted that the Rockies won the baseball game .... BUT IT WAS REALLY CLOSE!
Now, back to the erg.

Well actually now you mention it, and don't know if I should admit to this, but our dogs love it... Whoops that hole I'm digging keeps getting bigger! The upside is of course, the more beer we drink, the more vegemite we get given it is a by-product of the brewing process... oh this is getting worse, and the hole is turning into a deep chasm.Toothdoc wrote:It sounds more like a mixture of diesel fuel and rancid peanuts. I can see this is like selling ice to the Eskimos, it just ain't going to happen... One last attempt, Sao biscuit, butter, vegemite, if you don't like that there is no helping you!
Glad we can have a good laugh at it though...Cheers BBB

Now, those SAO biscuits look really tasty, even without the Vegemite.

Woohoo! Things are happenin'! Welcome back for the 2012 rowing season to Debbie R, Mike C AND Lisa J !
And congratulations, Bobbie, on getting to the one year milestone post knee replacement - no doubt that you are glad to have gotten past (outlasted?!) some of the frustrations that show up during the healing process.
Meanwhile, Greenville Indoor Rowing is nipping at the backsides of our ergs! There's a visual....erg dust....a whole cloud of it on our horizon! Yikes.
Coming to an erg near you ... in just under two weeks. Fear not the 21,000 m ....this can be accomplished in multiple rowing sessions - or in just one! Great opportunity to put in a first half marathon ! There is time !
Season meters as of 39/365 = 10,818,324 m
Total meters on the day = 248,169 m

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Long holiday weekend coming up in Australia, so we’re off to the Tree-top adventure park tomorrow (TomO’s favourite), and some walking the rest of the weekend... Metres dropped off at moment while I concentrate on weight training, but need to ramp up after our three week holiday (starts late June) in preparation for the Black Cat Track...
Good weekend to all, BBB
