Ranger has been working hard, his little finger on the F5 button has done nearly 3K.

Unless I'm mistaken, a moderator can pull up the IP address of every visit. Hopefully they do, it would be fun to see him caught viewing his own post 3000 times and then denying it.

Which is most interesting to you...the incredible narcissism, the pathological lying, or the OCD exhibited this week?

Can't do that, I'm a moderator over on the UK forum but I don't have access to the webserver logs. I can see the IP address for everyone who posts on the forum or posts a reply to Rangy's bog.

It is good to see everyone is sticking to the topic at hand, or should I say to the topic at some other part of the anatomy. Here is an a very easy to make bean dip that always causes people to ask for the recipe:


1 can pinto beans
1 can white corn
1 can black eyes peas
Drain liquid from beans, corn, peas
Chopped green peppers
Chopped red peppers
Chopped green onions
Chopped celery is optional
Liquid: 1 cup sugar, ½ cup salad oil, ¾ cup cider vinegar, salt, pepper
Boil and cool the liquid. Marinate the beans, corn, peas, peppers, onions, for at least 24 hours, drain the liquid,
serve with taco chips

The dip is delicious and does help create, as Bellboy so eloquently put it, sudden changes in air pressure. One would need a scientific study to compare the effects with tofu and cabbage in nav's Pad Thai. Of course it is best if one can save the best sudden change in air pressure until right before the finish line. Now sorry to stray off topic a little, but it is undesirable to experience that sudden change if you are on a recumbent cycle. Your body is in the wrong position and it is like hitting air brakes.

The big question: Is the release of flatus more difficult on a bicycle seat or on an erg seat? Related questions: What is the most effective technique in each case? On a bicycle, one can briefly stand on the pedals and raise up an inch or so. On an erg seat, it seems likely that it is best to tip to one side momentarily. That would not work in a light weight single scull - it might end up with a swim. In a crewed (crude?) boat, there would be sociological complications in having the wrong sort of tail wind.

Assuming both pieces of exercise equipment are moving normally then the fart on the bike has a much better outcome than the fart on the ergo.

On the bike lift your tail of the seat and the guy riding on your wheel gets it full in the face, straight up his nose, you as the farter get a small boost (due to Newton's second).

On an ergo the fart tends to rest just where you're about to row straight through it and take the full brunt (released at the wrong stage in the stroke and Newton's 2nd will slow you down) Perhaps that's one reason why Ranger rows to a metronome. Do you think it helps the old fart with his co-ordinated fart timing?

The only way to avoid catching your own fart on an ergo is with the quite wonderful C-Breeze (which should be renamed to the "C-Breeze and Fart Dissipator")

Don't forget that ranger is always getting that elusive "suspension on the handle" with his fancy footwork and levers — no need to twist from side to side, though I've never quite figured out how it is that the seat continues to roll up the inclined ramp to be in position when his posterior finishes its flight. Perhaps he emits a puff at the catch (exhales from both ends) which blows it up the ramp? That could explain why he no longer favors low rate rowing, which requires the seat to arrive more slowly — he's so full of it he can't get the timing right any more :lol:

It doesn't count repeated views by the blog owner. Although it does seem to count the first one.

Here's hoping rangerboy commits some major breach of etiquette immediately upon his return from his stay on virtual St Helena. The quality of discourse herein has improved markedly with his absence.

Dougie, can we start an alternate thread where he's banned for life, Byron can provide us with choice classic selections from the de-ranger every now and again - just enough to get our 'fix', and the rest of us can banter on about all things scatological, free from unnecessary interruptions?
