(You can see my pathetic time which I am very proud of!)

Last year I bought my erg before thanksgiving, barely completed 100,000 in the HC and raced at the Indy Sprints novice race in January. I survived! It will be even more fun to meet and race and/or be cheered on by other ducks!

Susan AKA Wood Duck

Hmmm...depending on circumstances, like snowy weather and bad roads and such, I might be able to do this. I have family in Central Illinois, and Indy's about a couple hour's drive from where they live. I'll have to see how things go between hither and thither with work and all. A mini Duck Convention would be cool!

--Jen

Susan:
I'm afraid I'm running out of month before I'm getting all my work done. Saturday in Indy is looking pretty doubtful for me - Sorry. I have one big deadline that was moved back to 1-23 instead of this Friday, so I will probably take as much advantage of the extra 2 days as I can stand - ie - be here at the office again next weekend. Row extra for all of us that can't be there - you will have plenty of positive thoughts coming from Southern Indiana!
Catherine
Rats, me too. With my work schedule, I'm not going to be able to do the Duck rendezvous.

Sure would've been nice to meet some "real" Ducks.

--Jen

Susan:
Hope you did well yesterday at Indy - let us all kow!! Wish I could have been there, but my "no go due to work" instinct proved correct. Hopefully another time will work out in the future!
Catherine
Woo Hoo!
I was in first place! My split time was 2:04 for the 1000 meters.
I was about to die! I don’t know how I did the last 400 meters.
Actually, I do! It was the frequent cheer “go Mommy” that did it.

I’ll have to check the official listing but my time was 4:05. Last year my time was 4:21.1 (for 1000 m)

I tried really hard not to “fly and die” but I couldn’t slow down.

Well next year I have to do the 2000. I am going to have to work on stamina. I could row my heart out for 2 minutes but 4 almost did me in. I can’t imagine 9 + minutes of all out effort!

(The official race distance is 2000 m. The Indy Sprint also has a shorter "novice" race.)

I have pictures to post but I don't have a website. If anyone can tell me how to post the pictures (and or the short .mov) I would love to share!

Susan
Wow, not too shabby, Susan! Sounds like you had a great run at it, and I hope you can get the pics to load.

I think you can load them onto a message like this, but I'm not sure how. Maybe you could check with Krysta Coleman to see how she posted her "Before and After" pics showing all the "baby fat" she lost??

Sounds like you had a great cheerleader, too! WTG, Danae!

--Jen in WI

You need to have your pictures hosted somewhere. I use Photobucket (www.photobuckt.com). It's free. You upload the pictures from your computer to your photobucket (or similar - there are others) account. Underneath the picture, photobucket will give you the path. Copy the first one (Ctrl C) (if it's photobucket).

Then come to your post here. Above the text entry area, click on IMG. Paste (Ctrl V) the link in. (overwrite what's in there to start with).

You can do the same in your signature. That's how I got Nicholas in there.

HTH.

Schenley

Now I really have to tell Nicholas about Danae, since I can show him a picture.
