Yep.
You have no interest at all in my quest for a 6:16 2K.
You are just hanging around here to sneer and be snide--at anything and everything.
This is the lowest sort of social behavior imaginable.
You should be ashamed.

You cant handle the truth old man. lying cheating and cursing at others that you have left. There is nothinf left you dare to show. Everything would be proof against you, everything. Every post you make is a, lie not once you can and dare to be honoust.

Yea.
You don't have any interest in my quest to pull 6:16 for 2K.

Pathetic stuff.

Actually, I have already reached my training goal: rowing well (13 SPI) at low drag (95 df.).
Am I predicting a 6:16 2K in the next month?
Not at all.
I have just claimed that 6:16 for 2K is the limit of my potential.
At the moment, I am training for a FM.
This is what I need to do before I am ready to try to pull 6:16 for 2K:
I need to complete distance trials at all distances, from the top down--FM, HM, 60min, 10K, 30mon, 6K, 5K.
Then I need to do a couple of months of sharpening with anaerobic intervals.
Then I need to race for a couple of months.
When I get to this point with my training, I will be racing, fully trained, rowing well (13 SPI) at low drag (95 df.).
Hey.
Training is going great.
I am delighted with it.
As far as I can tell, I am right on target.
Couldn't be better.
ranger
Hey fucko! If i remember correctly you said you would be sharpening for the next six months....er six months ago! You are making this up as you go along. The current FM fantasy only came about because of your abysmal showing at BIRC. You might forget these things but we dont.

In the four years i have been reading your tedious wank Henry has been correct in every single call he has made with regards to your erging. He knows you better than you know yourself.

Who cares what Henry has been right or wrong about?
His opinions have nothing to do with the success or failure of my project.
If Henry is interested in my quest for a 6:16 2K, then sure, I am happy to chat with him.
That's what this thread is about.
But he isn't interested at all.
He is only here to sneer and be snide--at anything and everything.
Pathetic stuff.
Shameful.

I would be happy to hear from Henry what he thinks I might do to pull 6:16.
But he doesn't have a clue.
To him, training for rowing is only work on fitness.
But my fitness was maximal in 2003, and given my age, my aerobic capacity has been declining since then.
So, I can't improve a whit by working on my fitness.
Given this, Henry just comes on here to discourage me from my project of getting better by improving my technique.
Why would someone return here, day after day, to discourage me, when he himself don't know his ass from his elbow?
That's a double pathology!
Why would I want to pay any attention at all to the pathologically discouraging sentiments of someone who can't row worth a damn himself?

Ranger, don't sell yourself short. I would encourage you to be optimistic about your abilities. I believe you can improve your time from your last 2K peformance. All it would take is to listen to the advice of anyone here other than yourself.

So.
Here is your chance to be helpful and positive, Henry.
What do you think I should do in order to pull a lwt 6:16?
Any ideas?

No one can do anything who is not optimistic about their abilities.
I was four seconds under the WR for my age and weight in my first race, just training hard, not even knowing how to row, hauling anchor at max drag.
I have plenty of optimism about my abilities.
It will take a lot more than a couple of shits like you and Henry to discourage me.
If you feel bad about yourselves because you can't row worth a damn, it's not my fault.
It's yours.
I am doing great.

Sorry.
I have listened, but I haven't heard anything useful at all.
The lame advice given by the lames here would only be useful to people who are similarly lame.
This advice is dangerously irresponsible.
Beware.

If 8 x 500m is standard training for 2K, then I suppose 8 x 10K would be the comparable training for a FM/42K.
I might try to give this a go.
Three sessions?
3 x 10K (early morning)
2 x 10K (noon)
2 x 10K (late afternoon)
1:48 @ 25 spm (11 SPI)

10K @ 1:48 is right around the 60s lwt WR.
If I can pull these 10Ks down to 1:46, that's right around the 60s hwt WR.
