Here are my estimates fro ranger's REAL numbers (April 2011, not eight years ago)

VO2 max = 58
* 500m time = 1:31

* assuming a weight on the erg (at time of rowing) of 165 lbs.

You're _way_ off base.

Sure, I'll do something like 1:24 for 500m.

My goal for sharpening is 8 x 500m (3:30 rest) @ 1:31.

Two very different things.

Rich: Row a 500m hwt at 1:31 today. That's right; hwt... Include HR...
A "1:24 guy" wouldn't even make AT...

I repeat:
You muscular mass at age 60 cannot surpass 1:31 as a lwt.
It's not about goals. It's not about df. It's not about ratio. It's not about MPS. It's not about HR.

and.. It's not about shame... You're 60.
The law of 6's states : "No 6:16 at 60"
Another 8 years "learning to row" or "getting comfortable with" won't help...

1.24 is your max pull hahah would be great if you could hold that for 50 strokes. Hell wil freeze over before that and hell does not even exist :lol:

All of this about what I can do for what distance becomes moot after my first distance trial.

If I pull a FM @ 1:48, it will predict all of my other targets.

You can't row a FM @ 1:48 unless you can do something like 1:34/6:16 for 2K.

Rich, again, that may be a "goal", however you cant do a 8 x 500m (3:30 rest) @ 1:39

and again, by "do" I mean actually do it this week.

Talking about doing it, or speculating that you could do it based on some extrapolation of a single force curve, doesnt qualify as "doing" it.

Really? Putting aside that I suspect it will be months at least before you do a distance trial, do you really mean this? So if it turns out your first distance trial sucks, then you'll agree that your training over the last few years hasn't worked as you wished?

You often bring up Reid Frawd as justification for your outlandish predictions. He's got a HM@1:45.5 in the 2003 rankings, which by application of your math predicts a FM@1:48 or so. Yet he never got below 6:30 for a 2k, much less 6:20. So much for your predictive theory.

But in any case, regardless of what predictive impact one fraud's claimed results have on another (that would be RF and RC), you don't need to row that FM to predict all of your other results. You can predict them all right now, and frequently do. You just won't achieve any of those targets, because your mouth is writing checks your body can't cash, no matter how much investing you claim to have done. The PM4 keeps sending them back stamped NSF — usually understood to mean Non-Sufficient Funds, but in your case, it might well mean Now Shut the F**k up :lol:

Time's a wastin. Our hero's devoted fans might enjoy seeing the turn-around point of our row last fall. It is a pumping station about 10K from our dock. I took the photo yesterday. We're having a touch of winter again. It snowed yesterday so the deck and oars had some ice and snow on them. This morning it was cool again, but at least above freezing, and windy. These would be excellent days for head racing practice OTW since our hero is going to win the HOCR this year.

That would be a cue for the usual first things first, too busy with my career, unfinished indoor rowing business, 6:16 2K, 3 WR's in 2003 but much better now, all the 60's hwt records by the end of April, etc.

Problem is, you'll never do a distance trial!

Or, maybe you will, but won't like the 1:58/500 average you achieve for 10K so you will claim you didn't do it!

How long before your focus turns to OTW rowing and you bury all these predictions in posts of other useless garbage?
