Could you please provide definitive proof that your max HR is 190 bpm please? It's not that we dont believe you its just......that we dont believe you.

Therefore, it is always a question whether he can row sub-7 for 2k--at all.

I thought he had already ranked a LW 6.56 2k this season. i cant remember what your BIRC time was but i think the number 7 played a prominent part.

You can't even do a 2K at 1:45 pace! Much less with a HR under 160!

So, what is Nik doing these days?

He is only 40 years old.

I didn't start rowing until I was 50.

I didn't race until I was 52.

Distance trials should do that.

As I mentioned, I should force my HR up to 190 bpm at the end of each distance race (5K, 6K, 30min, 10K, 60min, HM).

Hey.

Today, just rowing easily in a normal session, my HR pushed up toward 180 bpm.

Rowing at base pace, I will now do all of my meters with my HR floating at 170 bpm.

I row about 20K a day.

Eh?

Base pace is UT2/UT1. Your UT1 HR is < 160.

You don't have a season's best < 7:00. Mike does

If you can do a 7:00/1:45 2K at 80% HRR, you can pull sub -6:30.

80% of 375 watts = 300 watts.

Nope.

Top-end UT1 for me is still 172 bpm.

No it isn't. That would be 91% of HR max. That isn't UT1.
ranger wrote:Top end UT1 is 2K + 10.
No it isn't. UT1 is a HR dependent training band

And BTW, your HR max is way lower than 190.

Mike's season's best is < 7:00. Your's isn't. What makes you think you are qualified to comment?

If you consider a mere 2K at your base pace a challenge, then in your daily training you certainly aren't doing distance rowing, steady state at 155bpm, 1:44 pace now are you?

You're such a predictable clown. It's the same joke over and over but you still manage to draw a few yuks from the crowd.

Since Nav's maxHR is 170 bpm and his resting HR 150 bpm, 160 bpm is 90% HRR, not 80% HRR.

Come back to the keyboard when you're sober.

I think you will find that Nav's resting HR is somewhat lower than 150 bpm
