Woo Hoo! I made it!
Thanks Ducks!

My last 10K were on RowPro internet row. There's still two days til Christmas. If you haven't asked Santa for RowPro there is still time.

If you have people of different skills the slower ones can start first. Or you can do what we did today. We had a goal pace of 2:35/500m and three of us stroked together. It was like being in a quad (I know I can't count. But you know what i mean!)

I'm cheering for you Carla. You can do it.

Susan

Yes!! A perfect day!! Thanks to the challenge I accomplished a lot this fall.

Today I finished my 200,000m HC; did a new PB for 2000m, ordered my sweatshirt.

And I did a marathon in November, which put me over 3 million. So I will get a glass for the million and a mug for the marathon.

I am getting fitter, so I upped my maximum heart rate during the PB too. Cool.

grams
2000 meters 9:00.8 (down from 9:23!)

Wow, Grams! That was quite an improvement! I'd be totally psyched to take 23 seconds off my 2,000 PB! I'll bet you got a bunch more nonathlon points for that one!

Shannon

Yeah - I finished my 200k HC w/ a (pathetically slow) HM - woohoo!

It's probably a t-shirt for me instead of a hoodie since i'm in texas and it's going to be 70 on Christmas - but i'm very pleased nonetheless.

Michelle

I'll be fine. Today I did 7K "mixed junk" warm up and 30 min Level 4 (7190 m) and last night around midnight I did 10,000-a 3K warmup and 30 min Level 4. So tomorrow I have a tad more than an HM left. Should be no problem, but it would be fun to think of you toiling away at the same time. I plan to PB it. Oh, dear. Now that I've typed that, I'd better do it!

Great job on all you early finishers! Oh well, better late than never!

Just finished my 200K, yess!

I started a little late and I had only 17 days to make the HC but now, at 1.30 p.m. local time on Christmas eve I'm there. It has been a tremendous wave of encouragement and support on these pages for everyone and a real Christmas spirit as well. I feel like a winner! I wish you all a sweet and happy holidays for at least I'm going to have some holidays from rowing

We have -5C degrees and a lots of snow and I'm going to relax with my 4½ yo twinsons and the rest of my near and dear ones. Take a deep breath and relax

Salla

p.s. My sons Julius and Juri are here beside me and they are sending you all their season's greetings too!
Oh my - we had company for 4 days out of the month and I was afraid I wouldn't make it! Enjoy your Christmas - I'm envious of your young children AND your snow. I live in southern Ontario in Canada, after 10 years farther north, and it's going to rain all day today, so we won't have any snow left by tomorrow. It was probably good - meant I rowed instead of skiing, but I miss our white Crhistmas. Happy holidays, everyone!
Kit
Yay, FinDuck!

Great job on finishing up your Holiday Challenge! And now it sounds like you're all ready to enjoy your holidays--and with great company.

I have some friends who are of Finnish ethnicity, and they live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. They get lots of lake effect snow, and they have a sauna that they use regularly. They're very proud of their heritage, and they try to follow many of their family's old Finnish traditions.

In spite of all the snow we've had lately, for the next few days we're supposed to get freezing rain. I'd rather have snow!

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

--Jen in WI

Hi Everyone!
I wish I could say I made the 200K, but I didn't. I did, however, get to 144. I have to be happy with that, it's the first time I ever tried to do a challenge. I made the decision early on not to go for the 200K because I didn't think I could realistically do it since I hadn't been rowing regularly before Thanksgiving. So I'm happy with what I did, it's 144K more than if I didn't do it at all!
Next time around, though, may be different! I'll be in better shape, I hope!
I wish everyone a wonderful Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year. I'm glad I decided to join DIAR!
Martha

Just finished. No HM PB. It was a miserable row--right on schedule right up to about 9300m left to go. Somehow I just couldn't stick to it and every little thing seemed to be annoying me. Finished the meters but only because I wanted to finish the HC. Thank goodness that's over!

Merry Christmas and congrats, everyone, for great efforts!
Just finished the 100km challenge. Yay! Considering I hadn't done much until the 14th, I think I did pretty well to actually finish.

I even did my first ever half marathon yesterday. Wow, do my poor heels hurt. And my hip. I need to go stretch now but I wanted to enter my meters and download my certificate before I counted myself as done.
