Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
I just wanted to recognize Adam for his solicitation on the other boards for new members...way to go Adam in preaching the Timbuktooian philosophy...the team is growing with diversity and flavor...welcome to all new Team Mates....Brenda and I also have been nursing computer crashes...hopefully the bugs are gone.
Sunday is an 0 birthday.....I'm going to be 60 looks like my percentage's in rankings will go up by 25% because of the hill becoming less steep in Life.... I really appreciate all that post and comment....you have lifted my spirits in my rehab and have given me purpose again.

Now this is interesting about higher intensity exercise sometimes being a little too much of a good thing:

That is interesting! Thanks for posting it. I had read something similar a while back about studies doing MRIs (or some other scan) on runners' hearts after marathons and ultras and seeing unexpected damage (which I think they reported healed later). I guess antelope are usually spearable in shorter distances than 26.2.

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Happy birthday, Dennis!!! You are an inspiration to us as well. I hope you and Brenda celebrate by doing something really fun and special. Like, take a well-deserved day OFF from erging!!! Do you ride with Brenda? THAT would be a great way to spend the day.Dennis B. wrote:Sunday is an 0 birthday.....I'm going to be 60 looks like my percentage's in rankings will go up by 25% because of the hill becoming less steep in Life.... Brenda has two Quarter horses neither that I ride.....we both work 60 hour work weeks....she starts her season anytime now with trips to State Parks that have camping.....she does not rough it she has a motor home with all the comforts to reside in during her retreats. 27 years of a good marriage allows people time apart as well....I use to travel every weekend and shoot Glock pistols....right now the last two years has been enjoying the ability to move ....a good time to me is being able to look and feel normal...when I'm moving I feel normal.....thanks for the kind words.

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
I also passed 4 million lifetime meters with the same half marathon, so that was fun too
Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
I've been gone for several months due to a back injury and see there are a few new faces, that is terrific! I congratulate you all for your enthusiasm
L4/L5 seem to be on the mend and I now have clearance to do light rowing on a regular schedule. I am looking to post 5k every other day for the next month and then progress from there, I'm told easy does it
Oh, well, I'm not burning any land (or sea) speed records, but at least I get to put my tush back on the rowing seat!
Mike
