The easiest one on this table would be: "22 spm 1:50"

Go for it: 2k / 22spm / 1:50 / UT level HR / Screen Shot / IND_V..

Liar.

You forget a major item, Rich:

I actually know what it's like to row for an hour at low rate w/o a break. I set the lwt 55-59 best ever mark...

You, OTOH, haven't ever done one as a 55-60 yr old... You're waiting... For what, we don't really know...

Depends on what you mean by "better."

It looks to me as though I am getting better right where it counts.

I am now pulling a comfortable 12 SPI @ 95 df.

So, my rowing skills have improved _enormously_.

Improving my technique has always been my only way of getting better.

I _can't_ get better by increasing my physical capacities and fitness.

My physical capacities and fitness are _very_ high relative to others, and personally, have been maximal for a decade.

I just said that I am _not_ making any assumptions about what my body will do and not.

I am just working hard and listening closely to my body as it takes me along for the ride.

You said you assumed you would do an fm trial in a month or so ... something you said three years ago.

Has someone incredibly stupid highjacked your login and started posting random crap about erging by taking things you have posted in the past and adding other unrelated info? That would explain most of what I read lately from this "ranger".

Sure, I might train for more than a month before things come together for a FM trial.

I hope not, but who knows?

Nothing wrong with persistence and long-term goals.

Doesn't really matter, in my case.

What I am doing now beats you (and everyone else), anyway, without even preparing for it.

That's fine, if the drag is going down, too.

Same motion, less resistance.

As I mentioned, the lower drag seems to be better for me now, though, given my quicker legs and better footwork.

Better timing (more legs before I swing my back) and not as much muscular distress (on my upper body, bracing itself against the power applied by my legs).

I think this will help quite a bit on a FM.

For a little lightweight, especially one who is 60 years old, 12 SPI @ 95 df. is _great_ stuff.

I couldn't ask for anything better.

Another lie:
Witness the 10x2k/1:00r workout that I did and ranger cannot do
The goal was to stay below AT and rate cap at 23-24 spm.

ranger quit and didn't finish his...
He's "listening to his body" noises...

Witness his lwt 7:02 2k this season vs my 6:55

To readers:

No need to read all the posts today: Here's the down and dirty:

ranger did his EBP (erging between posts)
3:23 am to 5:31 am
during which he set up his camera and took shots of 2-300 meters of erging..

I wonder what a photo of
the screen after
*MORE OPTIONS
*MEMORY
key "stroking" would show

PWB... posting with breaks...

Yet another new stroke at 95 DF Rich.
Does the habituation period restart from then, do we wait until you are 65 for a timed piece?

Who knows you may eventually go back to max drag, rowing like crap, and post a decent time again!

No targets were mentioned, much less new ones.

Just combinations of rates and paces, a new stroking power.

No, the stroke is the same.

I am not changing a thing, just lowing the drag.

And for 2K, I'll probably still race at 120 df.

For the FM, 95 d.f might indeed be best, though.

At a low rate, it is easy to catch the wheel.

My length, footwork, and leg quickness are now entirely up to it.

And with a shorter drive time, ratios rise, especially at these low rates, providing more rest yet between drives.

Over 2.5 hours, the lighter chain, given my leg speed now, is also easier on my upper body.

There is less skeletal-muscular wear and tear.

_Very_ elegant rowing.
