Dougie--

Why you believe machines and not people is a puzzle to me.

Sign of the times, I guess.

I hope you stay on good terms with your computers.

When they start lying to you, your goose is cooked.

Better hope you don't get hacked.

Guess it's just my style, but I prefer to believe people and mistrust most of everything that is done with computers.

Actually, no, I didn't.

I still don't, really.

I just kept punching buttons until I got it done.

Thanks.

It was quite a bit better than you, no?

I tried to take a last slap at the 55s lwt WR but didn't quite get my weight in order.

Oh well.

Maybe next time.

How does a photo of a newspaper show anything about a sustained erging session? :? :?
Are you hiding behind a rather pointless side issue. The photos are inconclusive about sustained rowing such as your professed
10x2k/1:00r at 23 spm and less than 1:50 at UT.

Come out and play, old codger. Use your walker or cane if you need it. :)

Dougie--

Machines don't mean much to me.

Why should be pretty clear.

What is unclear is why they mean so much to you.

It is _soooooooo_ reassuring to know that you and your sort are the future!

God help us.

I will be happy to retire in a couple of years so I don't have to deal with the likes of you anymore.

And my absence won't be felt by anyone.

You will have lots of good company.

Enjoy!

If you get _really_ fast and accurate pushing buttons, your computers might give you a raise.

:D :D

Which is smarter training Rich? (You did say BIRC was just training for you, didn't you)

I trained a 6:55.0 at home.
You spent $1,000, flew to England and yanked a 7:02....

Those are the facts.

Yep.

If you injure yourself, you can't race at all.

You are old enough to know better.

So you sit on one for hours each day to get a 7:02 2k as a season's best?

The season isn't over, Mike.

I think a FM @ 1:48 would be a _great_ accomplishment for me this year, especially if I can do it at 95 df. and 12 SPI (e.g., 1:48 @ 25 spm).

A FM @ 1:48 would duck under the 60s lwt FM WR by a dozen seconds per 500m.

That's quite a bit.

Mike--

Getting injured (or sick or stale) are the most dumb-ass things anyone can do in this sport.

You have to be a total stiff about training, and a total novice about rowing more generally, to injure (or otherwise incapacitate) yourself on an erg.

The season isn't over, Mike.

yours is.
It ends April 30th... while you'll still be hiding behind a FM you won't post.

Then... on to the fall & unfinished business & no HOCR appearance & no 5k headrace & on & on & on ...slower

Did I say I got injured on an erg?
C _ N T. Wanna buy a vowel for $1000? (I'll send it to Henry for you.)

Sort of like Mahe Drysdale, and Rob Waddell right?

oops, I'm sorry! I'm discussing a WR holders who get injured... not ranger... my bad!!!

It's you who is incapacitated... you can't even turn in 7 minutes of what you say you will do for 160 minutes...

I could beat you at 2k this morning (IND_V) posted screen shot and I'm not as well trained as you are and weigh 20lbs less than you.
