BTW, re the discussion of FM rowing on the other threads, I can do a FM OTErg without eating and drinking at all.

I just don't feel any need to.

OTErg, 2.5 hours is just a blink of the eye.

:D :D

On a long row, such as 100K, or 24 hour row, sure, you have to eat and drink.

But not on a short little dash like a FM.

:D :D

A FM OTErg is nothing like running a FM, at least for me.

It is more like biking or stepping for 2.5 hours, which isn't that hard to do at all.

OTE, as on a bike or stepper, there is no gravity, no pounding, and so no muscle damage.

After running a hard FM, I can't walk for a half a week and I can't run much for a week.

Nothing like that kind of damage from rowing a FM.

Once, back in 2002-2003, I did a continuous FM every day for two weeks, just as a normal training routine.

No problem recovering from day to day.

You pull 2Ks in the 6:20s.

So, UT2 for you is 1:51 or so, not 1:57.

UT2 is 2K + 15.

Every single one of ranger's posts can be boiled down to the same thing....

"no"
I don't have any way of documenting this for my cross-training, but it's so, nonetheless.

When I do a FM OTErg this spring, sure, I will document this for my work OTErg.

You can't do a good FM OTErg if you HR is still drifting upward after an hour.

You need to row steady state for the last half of the race.

Wow.

I didn't know that I had gotten _that_ good with my legs and feet.

Because of the muscular stress I have been feeling, this morning, I lowered the drag to 95 df., and was amazed to find it _very_ comfortable.

About two seconds per 500m slower at the same, but the light chain relieved my muscular stress.

I suppose this indicates that my legs are now too fast for 120 df.

I should be rowing at 95 df.

I guess I am now tapping really nicely at the footplate!

BTW, with my short little lightweight legs, at 95 df. and 12.5 SPI, ratios become _huge_.

Drive time becomes almost instantaneous.

AT 95 df. and 12.5 SPI, given my short little lightweight legs, even "snappy" is much too mild a term to describe how fast the drive is relative to the recovery.

Rowing turns into 80% resting.

The light chain makes the super-dooper-snappy drive easy to do, too.

Arrive on time.

Bitta work.

Then lunch.

Biita work.

Then knock off for the day and its home for dinner with the wife and kids.

No, that's just the date set on my camera.

I have to figure out how to change it.

LIAR

You really want us to believe that you're that stupid rather than a liar who keeps reposting ancient photos from your archive.

I have never seen such a poor job at moderating something, be proud you managed to stir his thread 100% up again and gave the old fool room to keep telling his lies while you filtered the truth out.

No, just lazy about technology.

Here's a picture of yesterday's paper.

When was it taken?

Dougie--

Would you like to apologize now or later?

You know full well how to set the date on your camera. You've just set it back six years to get the photo of the NYT. The thing you've not learned is a) how to edit EXIF data or b) how to eliminate EXIF data from your pictures.

No apology ever, you're a nasty liar, a cheat, a welcher and completely dishonoured.

You just don't like it when someone calls you out for your cheating.

You have the time.

(You will not do this)

If you cannot do this at your glorified 12.5 watts/spm ratio now, you will never be able to do this for the rest of your life. I cannot be trained into your old bones by form. You need the aerobic capacity.

Aerorbic capacity is what is missing from your physical make up. It is no shortcoming as you are 60 years old.
A 7:02 2k is great for a midweight your age.

Congratulations on your 3rd place at the BIRC. :)
