Correct. When the Levee breaks is just 4/4 blues. My mistake.

Try this: Rocky Mountain Way 12/8 blues rock shuffle. Joe Walsh

Joe Walsh (totally off topic) rocks.

In this undeleted by the moderator post we observe a question.

I notice there has been no answer.
I think the plan now should be to do continuous "Steamroller" rows along the lines of the standard distance events: 5K, 6K, 30min, 10K, 60min, HM.

Then, I can just extend this to 30K, and then a FM.

ranger
Okay, has your rowing improved to the point where you can hold it together for an uninterrupted 5K at FM pace, or are you still trying to do your perfected stroke (which is set, you've told us many a time) for only a few hundred meters at a whack? With the lengthy rests between drives you're boasting about, there should be plenty of time for contemplating your technique as you go, no need to stop.

I guess I would settle for 30min at FM pace if that is shorter than doing a 5K

Paul is defining what bears on training and what not.

It isn't anything that I defined or agree with.

So it's his show, first and last.

It's just an excuse to print what he wants printed and censor what he doesn't want printed.

Who would expect otherwise?

Heck no.

Why would I want a timetable?

You can't force your body to get trained, or skilled, or relaxed, or...

The body has its own timetables.

To do well, you just need to attend to these timetables as they appear so you don't miss your bus.

If you miss your bus, your training can become a long walk home.

:D :D

The 60s WRs follow "double the d, add 3," with the standard four seconds per 500m between the two weight classes.

30min 1:49 (lwt), 1:45 (hwt)
60min 1:52 (lwt), 1:48 (hwt)

So, "Steamrollering" for 30min would be faster than any 60s lwt has ever rowed, flat out, AT, free rate.

"Steamrollering" for a HM would be faster than any 60s hwt has ever rowed, flat out, top-end UT1, free rate.

A FM, 1:48 @ 23 spm, would be a dozen seconds per 500m better than the 60s lwt WR; six seconds per 500m better than the 60s hwt WR.

That seems pretty clear to me then - I've certainly no desire to disrupt the flow of your posts, so if you haven't found this helpful I'll stop, with pleasure.

To everyone else - thanks to many of you for your comments, and to some for your abuse. I'll go back to concentrating on spam. Enjoy the thread!

When the moderator becomes a troll, the world becomes more than a bit unreal.

Oh, well.

It is only a cyberworld.

It isn't real in the first place.

Nice to hear that the troll is going elsewhere.

And you're the expert on trolling.

You're also good at posting photos from SIX YEARS ago.

Get on the ergo, row that FM @ 1:48 and post the screen photo. We know you can do it unless you've been lying about your capabilities again.

Thanks Paul for letting this get back to the way it was before. Your efforts to do what you thought ranger wanted just ended up removing the only comments of value as off-topic. None of those valued comments were ranger's, but I sure was missing the entertainment value of everyone else addicted to this thread. Every time I saw your "<off-topic>" I wondered what good stuff I missed.

It's just my opinion, but your comments on this thread before or during the off topic period have never seemed like trolling to me. Ranger loves to play the poor victim and to attack you as he has is uncalled for, but typical ranger.

Not sure, but later today, I'll see if I can shoot and post a video of my PM4 for 2K of "Steamrollering," with the music, so you can have it in real time.
Now that we're back to posting off-topic, I want to visit this one again. Ranger, if and when you do this please wear the HRM. It would be interesting to see how a consective 2k at 1:48/23 affects your HR.
