How?
I just have a Polar HR belt and watch.
When I race a FM OTErg, 1:48 @ 22 spm, I'll run my HR at 155 bpm, steady state, for the whole 2.5 hours.
Sure, then, I'll post the result.
The PM4 will record it.
I can't row 1:48 at a HR much under 155 bpm, or at least, I would be surprised if it happened.

Sure, being able to run my HR at 155 bpm for two or three hours is a _huge_ advantage for a 60s rower.
That's why I am being careful to promote/maintain this ability.
I suspect that it would be difficult for most young rowers to run a HR of 155 bpm for a FM.
155 bpm is 70% of 220 bpm.
My resting HR is 40 bpm.

BTW, a good stroke is exhausting, not aerobically, but skeletal-muscularly.
I am now taking a _lot_ good good strokes, and I feel the effects.
From day to day, after I row, ...
My ankles are tired.
My hip girdle aches.
My shoulders are sore.
My legs are wobbly.
My lats and delts feel swollen and fuzzy.
Interesting.
Sure, I am recovering from day to day, but with pretty different feelings, skeletal-muscularly, during the day.
I suspect that I will get used to it, as time goes on.
But right now, the skeletal-motor stress is considerable.

Are you able to post any session from your PM4 from the last two weeks? Absolutely anything at all?ranger wrote:Sure, then, I'll post the result.
Even just a daily list or something?
Re: Ranger's training thread
Sure, but I don't really see any reason to, until I race a FM.lancs wrote:Are you able to post any session from your PM4 from the last two weeks? Absolutely anything at all?ranger wrote:Sure, then, I'll post the result.

Then, demonstrably, I will have a stroke I can use, with good consistency, relaxation, endurance, etc., to do races at shorter distances.
Of course, whether they recognize it or not, everyone else is in a similar situation.
You are only as good over 2K as your FM @ 22 spm.
Why?
A FM @ 22 spm displays your natural stroking power.
By and large, rowers of the same age and weight row a distance at the same rate.
The one with the more effective and efficient stroke, the greater natural stroking power, wins.

Can you please post a recent photo of your Erg ? There is no proof you do any training on one what so ever.lancs wrote:Are you able to post any session from your PM4 from the last two weeks? Absolutely anything at all?ranger wrote:Sure, then, I'll post the result.
