No, not AT.Carl Watts wrote:Was kind of hoping that Mike would answer this, being it's his heart and everything and I'm sure he knows it best.
With his 5K time being what it is I'm pretty sure this is not AT rowing for him.
Top-end UT1.
There is also this:
Mike has been injured all winter.
He is just starting to train again.

Carl: I often wonder why senior men want to hide their vital training data.
Strange agenda, no doubt...
The workout above is what ranger has claimed he does twice a day! Or, at least double the distance:shock:
Of course he isn't telling the truth.
To answer your question : AT for me begins at 143 bpm but drifts upwards as a long workout progresses.
I found that when I was doing this yesterday, my breathing became less and less pronounced as the reps rolled by. To me this is an artifact of this HR "creep).
My max HR is 163-164 bpm.
Here a graph produced of the "step" test from which an exercise physiologist gleaned my AT (among other things):

Note the use of the term "adaptation zone" ... for me it starts at 143 bpm (dark blue line)
I am blessed with a high stroke volume. Doctors have remarked in clinical visits that the apex of my right (?) ventricle presses so tightly against my ribcage that it can quite easily be seen beating...(large athletic hearts often produce this phenomenon)
I still await ranger getting his HR tested. It would be valuable for setting one's training zones by knowing what they really are.
Now that he has reneged on showing any of his training, I wonder if he'd like to adopt some of mine as his own.

It's a shame that he cannot get the results he wants from his own routines. I wonder what set him on such a course?
A fall on his head perhaps?
