Izzz, you done great!!!! I can't believe how close all those finishes were. You have great reason to be both proud and happy.

And besides, if you met all your goals, what would there be to work towards going forward? :D

Step 1, done!
Improved my 5K time from 18:01.2 (#40) to 17:20.3 (#5!!!), an improvement of 40.9s and 35 places, as recorded by RowPro. That's an average of 1:44 per 500m. Passed 2K at about 6:52...
One PB down, 3 to go...

It was an incredible field this year. Over the 5 previous years, my time would've been 8th, 13th, 11th, 9th & 13th. This year: 17th!
Another hint: The winning time in 2006 for 50-54 would've been good for 8th Place this year! I think 50 year olds are just getting younger...

All right!!!! A lot of sistahs rowing today!!! Rock on, ladies!!!!

I was too pooped after sanding and staining our side gate and then filling two 90-gallon green waste bins with weeds and shrub trimmings. We're getting the house painted soon and I have to have all the greenery trimmed away from the structure. I'll be really glad when that's over. :(

CRASH-Bs off my Bucket List now... Yes, there were some buckets in sight, and some slippery spots including one going up the stadium stairs to the stands...
Got to do 500m on the ski erg, 500m on the new Dynamic Erg, and 500m on slides. (Didn't try the Shox Box, though.) Good news: I didn't move to the front or back on the slides or DE, which means that my stroke is pretty well balanced. That has me thinking about the water...
There was a company selling a seat cushion/iPod holder called the iErg there (http://www.dropbeatsdropsplits.com/iErg%20Home.html), a sight for sore... eyes.

Izzy, I'm so impressed.. you did great and have a lot to be proud of. I feel like a slug not having meters to log on the Concept 2 every day for the team... as an excuse though... my Rowing Club: The Black Warrior Rowing Club has been on the water Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday. It is great to be in a real boat again!
This morning I started out my 5,000 workout easy and got aggressive 1/2 though ending up with a pb time of 20:31.5. I should have done a racing start and the time would have been even better!

I LOVE my Shox Box! If anyone wants more info, let me know.

If one wanted to lay waste to all the energy in the body in the shortest possible time, rowing would be the way to do it. (Kiesling)

You can log "on water" meters and they show up in your season meters, which is what I base the stats on.... I logged some test ones today and for some reason they seemed to take a while to show up (but maybe I didn't hit "refresh" in the browser), but then forgot to remove them and they showed up in the stats I ran for Izz tonight. I had to remove them and rerun them....

Hey, i wanted to give a shout-out and a "Thanks!" to whoever it was who mentioned TV Ears earlier this year. I finally got around to ordering a set for the new rowing room, and sweet goodness they make rowing in front of the TV so much better. :D

Second, little shout-out for me too... I *finally* crossed my first lifetime million this morning! Here's to a little faster pace for the rest of this season and next!

Karen, Congratulations on your first million!!! Way to row!

Edited to add: Woot, woot, and yet another woot!!!

Glad you like the TV Ears. They really improved my experience. And for the posts about "posterior comfort", I know some folks row with bubble wrap, but I got a gardening-type kneeling pad and then put a hand towel on it. Works great:

About the water meters thing, maybe those don't count towards the affiliation meters for the season? Anyone know?

All hands on deck, and all flywheels a-spinnin'!
14 of our 55 yeomanly members (25%) logged 122,672 grueling meters this Wednesday, causing barbershop quartets to stop for a shave!
Milestones: John hit 5 ¼ million, while Paul reached the 350K mark!
Close Shaves: Yisroel a whisker from 2.2M (-9,241m), Matthew 2 half-hours from 1.5M (-13,916m), Jamie glides closer to a MILLION (-28,337m), while Karen moved towards 600K (-11,457m).

Razor-Sharp Rowers
John S – 22,765 That week's vacation helped us appreciate you!
David W – 19,890 Huge row after huge row after huge row...
Paul E – 11,678 Double row! Plus a milestone!
Jeff S - 11,000
Dennis H – 10,000

Gary G – 9,633
Matthew R – 7,117
Fred B – 6,208 On to the next milestone!
Glenn Y – 6,000
Jamie B – 5,000 Great Scot! The Utilikilt Man!

Brenda H – 4,625 Three days running...or galloping!
Daiva S – 3,398 Building back up to 5K...
Yolanda W – 2,956 Three in a row!
Mark S – 2,402

Just Curious: I am curious (and perhaps other team members are, as well) about how rowing is affecting your life, your job, your health, your mood, your sense of well-being, etc.
I would very much appreciate if you could put up a few sentences about the positive influence (or possibly even negative consequences) rowing is having in your life...
Thanks in advance for your time!
