Yikes.

He's a big heavyweight.

Ten years ago, when he was 50, he pulled close to 6:20.
Hey, Rich:
You somehow :? neglected :? :? to mention :? :? :? :!: how Spousta did? (with envy)
I find this urge you have to neglect winners very telling: Is it that you now know you cannot run with the best and focus on surpassing those lower in the standings?

macroth--

So how long do you want to "Steamroller," 1:46 @ 23 spm (12.5 SPI)?

10K?

Sure, i should be up to that now.

You go first.

Then I'll give it a go.

Mike VB can try, too.

10K is done at 2K + 8.

So 10K @ 1:46 should be pretty comfortable now.

1:46 is right around my 10K pb from ten years ago, and is Oesterling's 60s hwt WR (35:20).

So, sure, that might be fun to try at this point in my training.

I think I should do it without getting anywhere near my anaerobic threshold (172 bpm).

Rich.....
You go first!

You _will_ _not_ _do_ _10k_ of 1:46 pace at any spm you choose because we know you cannot do 5k of 1:46 open rate either...
That's simple!

Here's one for you, Rich... in the same vein:

Set the monitor on 2k and 500m splits.
Row the piece at 26 spm and 1:46.0 pace average.
Wear the HR belt you own.
Finish the piece.
Take an 8-10' break

REROW x 4

This will equal 10 k

Then post ALL the stats! (that means all HR data on each screen, for each 500m split)
   :

Summary=
10k of 1:46 rowed as 5 x 2k/10:00 rests...

No eff-ing way, José !

BTW: I know you'll come back with 5 x 2k
"is done with shorter rests"

.... You have that option my friend...

Take any rests you want... just report what they are

Mike--

You don't have a clue.

You're just runnin' off at the mouth like some sort of leaky faucet.

Pathetic stuff.

Oh well.

There is all kinds of worthless shit on the internet.

So I guess these things should be no surprise.

Are you sad, dejected or ill today?
What's the matter?
Sorry you're out of sorts.
Ever try B vitamins? ... How about (Crash) B vitamins???

Why resort to expletives?
I called you on a claim, that's all..

You said you'd erg as long as you could and post it: "23 spm and 1:46 for 10k"
That's 7:04 2k pace....

Do it.
I agree you can start the workout.
It remains to be SEEN how you FINISH & whether you POST it

your friend,

Mike

A Correction

When we told you minus twenty
Here this morning, that seemed plenty.
We were trying to be modest
(Said he spitting in the sawdust).
And moreover did our guessing
By the *** DELETE - SPAM *** stove while dressing.
Come to dress and make a sortie,
What we found was minus forty.

Mike--

Can you do 50 jackknives?

25 pull ups?

20 extension press ups?

10 one-legged squats with each leg?

If so, post a video for us.

Let's see.

Quick tip for anyone challenged by ranger to do anything and post a video. The correct response is 'coming right up'. This is a code phrase roughly equivalent to the English expression 'no'.

More proof that the erging season is over for the nutty professor: he's moved on to challenging people to calesthenics.

The style hasn't changed, however. Still no proof of what he claims to be able to do.

Rowing along, just stroking naturally, in a 4.2-to-1 ratio at 119 df., I am nowhere near my anaerobic threshold.

I am not alone in this.

No one is.

23 spm is just a middlin' UT1 rate.

Time to wake up, guys.

Rowing is "calesthenic."

No?

You don't row with your lungs.

calesthenics

[From Greek kalli-, beautiful (from kallos, beauty) + sthenos, strength; see segh- in Indo-European roots.]
