I am _much_ better now than I was back in 2007.
Hey Rich, you are on roll today but alas, you have offered zero evidence to back up your statement that you row better. In fact, give or take a few years, your decline has started as predicted by your age. Too bad so sad. But then, at 60 you are past your prime.
Oh, I know, we`ll see once you are ready to race. This has turned into a never ending mantra.
But why let facts get in the way of a good story?

It would be a close call.
My guess would be no.
We already had this discussion back at the time that you did your 1.30.9 remember? I did a 1.29.something in fairly comfortable manner too. And let's not forget I've actually pulled the 1:24 500m as a lwt too, so I don't have to just 'think' I will.
Can you pull a 1:24 500m? I wouldn't need to guess at this; I know for absolute certain that you cannot..

Everybody was gathered in front of his erg watching with Mike Caviston and the King of Sweden leading the cheers singing Ride a Cowboy to ranger's perfect rhythm and SPI. In a stroke of luck Mike van Beuren happened to be assigned to ranger as a cox'n, but never said a thing to him. In the interviews afterwards Mike vB said there was no need to cox perfection. Mike C crowned ranger as best athlete in the universe and begged ranger to be his best friend. Ranger confessed he was just learning to row and that he hadn't even sharpened and that he's much faster now.
Yea.
Mike Caviston, Paul Hendershott, Dennis Hastings, Dick Cashin, Nik Fleming, Mike VB, Andy Ripley, Roy Brook, etc., did great at WIRC 2011.
I am so envious.
Well, maybe next year.

Well dickhead, Andy Rupley is dead (God rest his soul). And from the remainder, none of those respected athletes and gentlemen predicted they would row a lwt 6:16 and obliterate the competition. The one arsehole that did was a no show.

What a vile human being you are. It hurts that you can't do it anymore doesnt it? I bet your watching the racing with a rapidly diminshing bottle in your hand as well. Just think all of those people "competing" when you are sat in the Bat Cave spitting bile like a bitter old queen. Are your children proud of you? BIRC has really done it for you hasn't it?! You can't do it any more. 7.02 is all she wrote. smooth_as_butta.
Well, maybe next year.

Love McCabe's technique, too.
Really gets his heels down and drives, before swinging his back.
By and large, the veteran rowers do nothing of the sort.
The difference is just mechanical/technical.

Great work by Robert Meenk today.
6:25
He's 49.
He'll have a shot at Siebach's 50s lwt WR next year.
Good luck to him.
Throughout his 40s, Meenk hasn't slowed down much at all.
A couple of seconds.

The difference is they turn up and do it, unlike yourself.
PS you never explained what happened at Cincy, lots of posts posing the question.
Did you show
Did you warm up
Did you just turn around and slink home, simple questions!

It would be pretty odd (no?), if Rob Slocum's long-standing 50s hwt FM WR were bested by a 60s lwt.
The difference over 2K between the two age and weight categories is eight seconds per 500m.
The difference in FM WRs is a dozen seconds per 500m.
1:48 vs. 2:00.

Know what would be even more odd? You showing some proof of being better than 7:00 right now. Not talking about what ifs...not referencing what was done in previous years. It would be really odd for you to actually do this FM distance trial you say you're ready to do (no?). Everything is ready...why don't you just set the damn PM and count it down? Oh, that's right, you're a pathetic liar that will never show any proof of the talent you boast, and will most likely never race again. Hey, look at the bright side. You almost certainly would have finished in the top 7 today at Crash-B's if you had been brave enough to show up.

Crash-B memory:
I'm quite proud of my cousin's son. HE CAME IN 10TH overall in the open lwts.
10 Moore Tim Unaffiliated 06:17.9 U23-C
and, as you can see, he'll still under 23!
Tim wasn't in the front row but fought his way in to the top finishers!

Time to wake up, kid.
Get your head out of the sand.
In this brave new world of ours, you can have it any old way you can get it.
Bernie has shown us how.

Not surprising ranger would take Bernie Madoff as a roll model.
