I feel like a bit of a part-timer the last couple of days....

Chiropractor moved my collar bone a couple of days ago, it needed it, shoulder muscles had been a bit sore, so I’m hoping problem fixed... And a couple of late nights has seen me hit the ‘snooze’ button at 4.05am! Alas, ran out of excuses, hopefully back in to it tomorrow......

Happy birthday Ashlee..... :)

Good weekend to all, wherever you are!

Cheers, BBB

Wowzer, mates! Put your deflector shields up - solar flare alert! We've got some good stuff heading our way! Recent solar flares are sending some charged plasma particles towards our upper atmosphere -- and when they intersect....we get auroras under the right conditions! Cathie, Sam, Harold, Steven, Rivka and Sarah might be getting treated to something a bit better than a laser light show if their locations aren't too far south. Keep your eyes to the skies over our rowing universe - nothing quite like getting to see the Aurora Borealis - "they" say it could be viewable in New England, too ! Definitely an opportunitiy not to miss!

You can start signing on with the Luna-Tics World Erg Challenge Team today! The team is officially signed up! Fortunately the Challenge does not begin until March 15th....we get to revel in March Madness first! Whoop! Whoop!

Welcome Sarah and Rivka, always nice to have new additions to the team.
And BAZ I had my collar bone relocated once about 35 years ago, only it was done by the underside of a 46 Chevy pick up. Second degree separation. They did nothing and said it might bother me when I get older. Guess what, they were right. Oh well so it goes

rivka wrote:Thank you for the warm welcome to the team. Sarah and I were here for a short while and have been part of 3 teams this season. We enjoyed Jim's Overcoming Disabilities team and had fun there. We understand he is trying to keep the team small so he can handle the stats. The TimbukTOO team was very mean, pushy, uncaring, bad feelings all around. We hated it. The Luna-Tics forum is fun to read and we enjoy the community here. With so many of Jim's family here, it is a good sign to us.
As you may have read in our bios, Sarah and I are amputees due to an explosive device going off in the cafe we were in. It has been difficult for us, but it is nice to be back home. Therapy is hard but working. Sarah doesn't speak yet due to PTSD, but we know it will come. Sorry to whine about our troubles to such an upbeat team.

Welcome Rivka and Sarah to the LUNAtics!

Rivka -- no apologies necessary. I would hardly call sharing your personal experiences with us "whining". I feel honored that you wanted to share that information. I agree, we are an upbeat team, but we also share in each others tough times and sorrows. I find this makes our team stronger. It is amazing how close I feel to my LUNAtic teammates that I have never met. I refused to join my real rowing team for a challenge when they set up a team this year as I have such a strong loyalty to my fellow Loonies. We are glad to have you on board and hope you feel welcome and appreciated. I'm glad you didn't stick with a team that wasn't supportive of you and your efforts. All the best to you and Sarah in your recovery process.

Karyn

Must say it feels much better today, four days off the ERG though, so back to it tomorrow (Monday). Actually it was hard to stay off it, but I put the ego aside and let it rest.... The Chiro did a great job of adjusting it, and I think somehow a nerve was trapped somewhere in there as well, but all the 'nigglie' pain has gone...here's hoping!!

Do you still have the '46 Chevy?
