Ya, I spent about a week with a sore back after the blizzard (happens when you shovel out two feet of snow by hand), but I'm back in action now! -- Karen

Congratulations to our Captain-
Gold is good-- perhaps not as the standard / anchor for our currency, as some would like ( sorry for the politics- anchors do bring things to a halt ) -
but gold is good to win in a race.

I definitely wasn't able to keep the exhaustion out of decision making. Half the time that I didn't post until the next day was from being knocked out by my training. As race week approaches, the long rows get longer, the fast rows get faster, the weight lifting gets heavier and "to failure". And as soon as I rest up enough to get my strength back, I sandbag myself again.
The good news: It's Taper Week, where you go down about 50% on meterage... but 0% on intensity. No weightlifting within 5 or so days of the race. This is when the body is supposed to recover from 14 weeks of building up.
I was going to say I'll never do this craziness again - except that I know I will... :?

This post was dedicated to Frank Gusenberg, an enforcer for the Bugs Moran crime syndicate. After being shot 14 times on Feb. 14th, 1929, presumably on behalf of competitor Al Capone, police asked him who did it. He responded, “Nobody shot me!”

Don't know where yesterday's post disappeared to - it had posted properly, but here are the raw numbers from Tuesday. You'll have to insert your own jokes...

All hands on deck, and a slab of CRASH-Butterflies have made a home in my stomach!
