Given decline with age, my 6:29.7 in 2006, at 55, unprepared, at high drag, still stuggling with technique, is the equivalent of 6:21.2 at 50.
I now row well (13 SPI) at low drag (119 df.).
And I am now preparing to race.
Everyone gets about a dozen seconds over 2K from a couple of months of good race preparation.
I am not sure what rowing well at low drag is worth over 2K, but I would expect something comparable.

Even if I just do 6:28 now, my pb, now that I am 60, given normal decline with age, I will beat predictions by 16 seconds.
Paul Hendershott rowed 6:11 when he was 50; 6:24 when he was 60.
If I row sub-6:20 now that I am 60, I will beat predictions by almost half a minute.

Given my stroking power now, if I just rate 30 spm and pull a 2K straight through, I'll row sub-6:30.
If I rate 34 spm, I'll pull sub-6:20.

Since our favorite dimwit hasn't bothered explaining himself, I'd just like to point out that ranger didn't race in Detroit today because when he signed up, he thought the race was in March, not February.
In fact, even though I've pointed out his dumb mistake several times already, he still thinks he'll be racing in Detroit on March 5th! http://www.c2forum.com/viewtopic.php?f= ... 15#p154525

When I asked why he wasn't registered for Toronto tomorrow, he said he was going to make the short trip to Detroit today rather than trek across here. In ranger's world if can equal whatever he wants it to equal.

Caution: Static C2 ergs can ruin your technique and timing for rowing in a boat.
The best thing I ever did to improve my rowing was to sell my C2 and get a Rowperfect.

It is.
And if you could do you 6:13 at 75 kgs., you would be world class.
At the moment, I am not leaning on these adujustments for weight and age at all, though.
When I am fully prepared for it, I think I now have the horses to pull 6:16 at 75 kgs.
That would just be a straight up improvement for me, regardless of my present age.
If I get something like this done, the relation between this time and the times of my competitors will become pretty evident, though.

The 60s lwt race at WIRC 2010 was won in 7:04.
The 60s _heavyweight_ WR is 6:23.8.
Only one 60s _heavyweight_ has ever pulled sub-6:30: Paul Hendershott.

I am racing in Detroit on March 5th, not at the Detroit Boat House on Belle Isle but down in Wyandotte.
I went to Wyandotte last year, too.

My 6:41s the last two years (at max drag, unprepared, still struggling with technique) are faster than any lwt 58 and 59 has ever rowed.
These rows are equivalent, entirely, to the lwt 6:28 I pulled when I was 52.
I am happy to have you try to pull a lwt 6:41 this year--or next.
Be my guest.
Last year, you pulled 6:50 at WIRC.
You'll have to get quite a bit better to pull 6:41.
For whatever reason, you aren't even racing this year.
So, next year, it will be even harder for you to make headway on this project.

I have a question for you ranger. I know you wont answer it truthfully, I simply want it out on the board again so you are forced to run and hide and look like the coward you are.
Why wont you post a screenshot of your daily sessions? And why wont we have seen a 8x500 screenshot two months from now, even though you will be doing them repeatedly? You claim to not be RWB's any longer. You know how to go back in memory and pull up your dialy session. Show it. I believe you would be able to go back and show an hour or two at 1:46 correct? You've been doing this every day for a while now.
The answer is obvious, I just think it would be amusing to hear the lie you tell to get around doing it.
