Chip, you've got the right idea (although had to resort to my favorite research zone of the moment - Wikipedia to know what you'd written.)..! The extreme cold and SNOW has provided some unexpected "opportunities" for individuals to spend more time erging - and, knowing that you're giving up some "free" time to do this - THANKS for the meters! The battle for third place continues!!

Greeting from the Newall Vuillemot household!
I just checked the team challenge stats and we are 47500 meters behind the ancients.
I pledge that our household will collectively row this amount over the weekend.
We will actually get Debbie on the board (and on board). (Unfortunately, I was 15 minutes too late in registering Elias for the challenge).

Jan, thanks for taking the time to write this. It never hurts to be reminded that when one posts on a public forum, what is written is "out there" for the whole world to read. What one person views as funny, entertaining or harmless can be offensive to others. You just never know who might be reading what you are saying, and the kind of reputation you are earning for yourself in the "public eye". And you are creating a permanent and retrievable record that you may regret if you have been careless or indiscreet with what you have written - even if you delete it at some point.

As an organized team, let it be known that the LUNA-TICS Team exists to encourage every one who crosses our individual and collective paths, whether a fellow team mate or someone just reading through our forum postings. Regardless of faith or belief, political or social position, etc., these words sum up what our team is all about: "Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything is worthy of praise, dwell on these things." (Col. 4:8)

I love being a part of this team because every one here really does take care to be an encouragement to others, and the postings are always respectful of all. Competition is fun, but winning is not important enough that we should get careless with our words. Let's be encouraging to every team as we race to the finish! Go LUNA-TICS!
