Dalton, it was an honor and a pleasure to draw cartoons of you and your best friend. Your rowing 50,000 meters in 2 weeks is an inspiring achievement. Thanks for being an awesome teammate. A J

Post by Kona2 » January 16th, 2011, 2:29 pm

And they rowed, and rowed, and rowed....all the way to the moon! We have milestones zooming by for many in this challenge season...many opportunities for firsts! Your first million meters! Your first multi-million season! A half marathon....or a full?! In fact, one first that I hope this team will see is a first junior rower to row a ONE million meter season...I'm pretty sure that hasn't happened during our voyage to the moon before - but perhaps Kapt Kristine can confirm.

Today could be a day for us to hit 80 million team meters! Looking forward to it? You betcha! Whoop! Whoop!

Hooboy! We've been hitting the ergs today! Can't believe Tony is ONE meter short of a canoe! Although the 11,111 m rowed is a nice series of numbers! And Pat B - a little less than 5K to the canoe paddle! Johnny is not much further than that! Scott and Heather are within meters of their canoes! Go get 'em!

I must be the reason they put Snickers bars and Cheetos at the grocery store check-out counter ... I just finished watching "Smokey and the Bandit" based on the fact I couldn't get that song out of my head! Great fun. I didn't even notice that I was rowing ... not often that I go under 1:50:00 for a HM ... too busy concentrating on whether a truck full of Coors could make it east of Texas!

Just got done logging in meters for the day.....whew!

And I don't believe we have ever had a junior rower on our team reach the 1 million meter mark in a season. Tim and Ben are both closing in on their first lifetime million, and it has taken a few years to get there.
