This was from the e-mail I sent to TimbukTWO VTC members:
"...Here's Small Goal # 1: To add 2 million meters over the next 5 days to our present 3.036MM, to put us clearly over 5 million meters by the close of the 17th of the month (Monday night). That alone will raise us to 12th Place, ready for our next big move.
And, as your captain, I will lead from the front. Today was supposed to be a Weights day in my training. Instead, I'm going to get on the erg as soon as I send out this e-mail, and do another 26K piece. Please join me in amping up our VTC vigor, and let's start surprising the heck out of some people!
You with me? Tell me... and show me!..."

Okay, I did 27K, so sue me...
Jeff, (The Other One, not Jeff Rice), you've been putting up 11Ks regularly! But since you don't go out on the water, I can't say you're from the "Ocean's Eleven"... 220 would be amazing!
Demoiselle Lisa, You have once again gone above & beyond the Call of Duty! (Any Californians you could sweet talk into joining our team to close the numbers gap?) Hope the trails don't go cold...

Izz, I have a friend here who rowed in the 84 games (he gave me a lesson on the erg when I first got it). I've TRIED to get him to row for us, but he just won't. At least he's not on any other teams. Tres bummer.

I just checked the standings, and all of a sudden we are in 10th place and there are rowers with lotsa meters. What's up with that?

Kevin: Our former Captain Jim Kielma, who has started and runs the Overcoming Disabilities team, asked them to join us. We roll out the Welcome Mat for the 3 Mediterranean Marvels, Rivka Levitt, Sarah Hallbeck & Elton Giogri, whose first team Way Back When (okay, a month or two...) was TimbukTOO. Many thanks, Brother Jim!
Their combined 900K in 12 days is a testament to their grit and determination, and their desire to show that if disability looks like a barrier - just knock it down, and use it as a springboard!
(Got a graphic for that, Glenn?)

What a profound message: "Crush orange soda why plus paddle barriers road closed!" What a coincidence! That's exactly the message the aliens told me to deliver to earth when I was beamed up to the Mother Ship! What are the odds?!

Whoops, sorry for splashing Team Canada as we passed them!
