Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Thanks, Kona, for all your encouragement. My shoulder is sore, but improving rapidly. I did 10 min of rowing on Christmas day (with some pain, but I took it easy). The next day my shoulder was dramatically improved so I did 30 min. Each day since I've noticed substantial increase in range of motion and decrease in pain. So I'm convinced that moderate rowing is really helping me recover. When I told the surgeon today what I was doing, he winced a bit, but then gave me the green light. I'm so thankful for the results I'm getting.

Luna power and hot fudge sundaes
We have yet to fully understand the power of the Luna herd ....and if rowing is helping improve your shoulder, woot! Would love to see your name on the Virtual Challenge roster!
Wonderful idea, Barbara! I am sure that sundaes will be a very popular item!

Well I’m thinking some sleep might be a good start for me and unlikely to get enough today, but at least a bit of a sleep-in tomorrow!Kona2 wrote: Woot! It's the day before! Do whatever Challenge ritual you do.....and may it bring you good fortune, good rowing, and more good teammates!
Happy New Year to all, looking forward to that Summer Ale, and Cooper’s a little later, and the fireworks on the Harbour Bridge..... just need to struggle through another 10 hours of inactive currency markets
Cheers BBB

Champagne's on ice
The various assorted drinks are being set up ... and the midnight Champagne is chilling. There's cheese, and hot fudge sundaes (though not necessarily together!) ... it's already New Year's Eve across the IDL ... last orders are coming in ...

Happy New Year and Happy Rowing!

Absolutely, Andrea, deviled eggs are always the first thing to be devoured at a party!andreacs wrote:just27 wrote:The various assorted drinks are being set up ... and the midnight Champagne is chilling. There's plenty of virtual Champagne in the ice bucket ... but if anyone has any last minute requests for a favorite drink ... speak now, etc.!

On your mark.....get set..... ROW!
The first January VIrtual Team Challenge meters will be hitting the roster in just a few hours....the drama, the excitement, the competitiveness...that victorious feeling....all those are coming our way. But wait....there's more!
Along our Luna shoreline, our virtual canoes are hidden. AJ has already rigged the canoes, so they are ready to go! Our mission (in addition to the moonshot) is to get some rowers into those canoes....and become the LUNA Fleet....populated by we characters of the Luna crew (rumor has it that there are some amazing likenesses to certain team profile photos). These canoes have a rich history, as does this team, and we'll treat them with the respect they deserve while we push ourselves forward. So how do you get to be one of the Luna Crew, a rower in one of our fleet canoes? You have to be on our virtual team. Once you've reached 100,000 m ....your "character" will show up in a canoe....you actually get to paddle (this will help) once you've reached 200K. Those under 16 and/or on the adaptive honor boards have a goal of 25K for the character in the boat, and 75K for the ability to paddle. We hope to fill many of these canoes - and we'll be publishing the canoe crew graphics each Tuesday during the January Virtual Team Challenge. We do hope that YOUR character is in one of our canoes...for we will go forward with New Year's blessings and wishes towards the unknown frontier. You'll want to be part of that adventure!

thanks chris for hosting....and a happy and healthy new year to everyone and thanks aj and k2 for the challenge within the challenge.......
Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
I hope I'm getting my drink order in before it's too late! I'm going to keep it simple. Set me up with a Coors Original draft. This summer, we visited K2's stomping grounds, and I took the opportunity to tour the Coors plant in Golden. While we were there, we sampled most of their products, but the Original Banquet is the one that I still favor. Not very exotic nowadays, but back in the early 70's we were "importing" it to Michigan by the pickup truck load. Now the Silver Bullet is all over in our area, but you still have to search a little to find the Original. It looks like the astrogator has come up with more enticing incentives for the Challenge. Happy New Year to all!
