Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
VTC2011? TimbukTWO Now Reaches the Big TWO-OH!
Yes, TimbukTOOians will participate in January's Virtual Team Challenge, as we have yearly! We have put up a new team called "TimbukTWO, Pat's", and the Captain's wheel will be held by my inexperienced & trembling hands, awaiting Pat's steady hand! (Okay, she told me today her steady hand is on hiatus for a while...So, if you see a mouse go by in a rowboat, please salute!)
So, please go to your Teams Page, pick us as your Virtual Team, & separately (yeah, that's how it works) sign up for the VTC!
Thursday we were at 13, and today we're up to an even 20!
Welcome, Don Roche! Hey, can I interest you in a year-round team?
(Britt, Karen & Don, thanks for signing up for the Team, BUT... you still need to join the VTC!)

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Wow, it feels great to be back! I had to take Wednesday off last week to prep for a trip I took this weekend, then Thursday through this morning, I was out of town. I'm so glad I got to get back on the erg today... I did much better than I thought I would! Those days off really rejuvenated me! My trip was great... went to Kansas City to watch the NCAA Women's Volleyball Championship (Go Penn State!). Now I'm back in the saddle!

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Hey Guys,
I have been a silent participant to the team over the past few months but wanted to chime in and say that I continue to really appreciate all of the encouragement that is offered from such an outstanding team!
Also I wanted to mention that I left teh timbuktoo team and rejoined the "TimbukTWO, Pat's" team to participate in the virtual challenge. Hopefully this is what I should have done as I don't want my leaving the original team to misunderstood as leaving the team in total. Does that make sense?
Anyway, thanks to each of you for making this team a reality and making it fun. I am 35-years old and in the best shape of the past two decades. I owe that in part to this team.
Best Regards,
Matt

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Goodbye to Rivka & Sarah, who left to join Jim Kielma in his new venture, a team called "Overcoming Disabilities." We hope that they will supply support and encouragement to many in their journeys to transcend physical limitations. Of course, we'd like to have them all as part of Team TimbukTOO, but if we can't, at least let it be for positive reasons!
We are still at 26MM: the meters we lost, and the meters we rowed today, were almost identical! We are still firmly back in the Top 10!!
Milestones: Robyn hit 1.5M, Gary hit 950K, Steven hit 300K, and Barb hit 75K.
Almost there: Bryan inches from 1.5M, Yisroel close to 1.5M, Kat a whisker from 1.4M, and Daiva closing in on 400K...
A reasonable 16 of our 54 TimbukTOOians had their oars in the water Monday, almost 30%, adding 194,985 meters!
Yisroel H 32,500 8K last night, 24.5K tonight...
Robyn L 24,600 Wow! And hit 1.5MM to boot!
John S 22,842
David W 20,000 Impressive!
Matthew R 14,111
Andrew A 12,050
Kat M 12,000
Steven C 11,128 300K!
Jamie B 10,000 10K a day, will keep the doc away!
Dennis B H 7,579 That will turn your nose red!
Pam S 5,818 Good!
Barbara B 5,218 75K!
Mark S 5,000
Daiva S 5,000
Gary G 4,139 Steady meters!
Alison H 3,000

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Matt being a NEWBIE.....I did alot of research on each member...at least what you could find in times. I've approached my rehab as competitive benchmarks that you all have achieved...I appreciate All that have returned and appreciate all that each of you accomplished....I believe you have a good 5k time and are now over 1 million meters....you are a benchmark and Mentor of success .
I believe we all will have people we can look up to as a Mentor and in return help those that ask for our help.....Yes it's good to be on a Team

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
WAY TO GO, TEAM TIMBUKTOO!
I've got a minor shoulder issue resulting from some activity I did last weekend and it has kept me from rowing this week. I hope to be back soon, especially since I got my NewGrips gloves in the mail. I'm eager to try them out.

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
my new grip.com gloves arrived yesterday- used them this AM.
it is one extra thing to deal with during the prep for a workout and then during the workout- but they seem to do the job.
My hands will return to their pre- rowing state eventually- smooth as a baby's bottom.
The next test will be keeping them clean and odor / germ free over time.
If they dry in 24 hours, they should be just fine.

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Sorry, guys, got bummed out last night. Lost 2 major posts seconds before saving them. One was a response to Lisa, Gary, Dennis, and with a message for everyone - after an hour of writing, it disappeared into the ether. The second was last night's stats.
I had my first "coached" rowing session last night, and felt achy & nauseous. So, I just popped up the basic numbers, and went to sleep.
