So, is a wagging tail the sign of a happy reindeer, or is he about to head-butt santa off the roof? (I know what it means in dog-speak and cat-speak, but no clue about reindeer non-verbals. Another space mystery.)

Have you ever tried massaging your muscles with the "Stick". I tried one out at a pre-marathon exibition and immediately ordered one from Road Runner Sports. I highly recommend it.

On the party front, how about a "Buy Local" theme. We can all share some of the great products produced by our local breweries, winerys or distilleries. Vermont has some great microbrews. This goes for food items too.

Thanks, Ron. I'll go to Road Runner Sports and look at the "stick". Is that what the road runner used on the coyote?

Jan, you really beat the odds by reaching 666,666 season meters and 111,111 holiday meters on the same day. I do not think anybody can outdo that one.

The 41st reindeer! Stars!

Post by Kona2 » December 17th, 2010, 12:56 pm

Image Stars, our 41st reindeer!

Ronnie, our gal in Jamaica, claimed her reindeer yesterday....knowing that reindeer also have to have the capability of being very quiet as they land on the rooftops of intently listening children (and some adults)...she and Stars quietly waited until their presence was noticed.....so NOW with a great clattering of hooves and rattling of antlers, we welcome our 41st reindeer properly!

Woohoo, hooyah and congratulations, Ronnie, on attaining the 50K Holiday Challenge Honor Board!

Kona,
My grandkids love the way you mention them in the stats :D Jackson is a Mario fanatic and he laughs when u have him as Mario Jackson. Allie is 5, a very little 5. She has RA quite bad. But rowing helps the stiffness. (Tris is helping me write this)
Sorry my meters are down but kind of rehabbing. Trying to get Ethan to avg. 20K a day, but he is balking  (he's 4)
Keep up the fantastic job of stats, humour, wisdom, and fun.

One of our reindeer has gone to join another herd...and spread reindeer magic through the rowing universe! Good luck, and good rowing, wherever you land Elton!

Good reminder, Ron! Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!

Thanks, Jim - I know that Mario is a keen driver of racecars, motorcycles, and I'll bet the reindeer version by Mario Jackson is a glowing nose contender to watch for as the challenge nears its end!

No Moolight in Vermont Today. Just gave my pound of flesh (blood). "A pint's a pound the world around" :!:
The need is great around the holidays so I would encourage any one who can-please donate.
Ron
Way to go Ron :) You are so right and a true holiday hero for donating.

Since Jackson is such a Mario fan, maybe Duster should wear a Mario hat:

A Mario hat...That is soooo cute!

Jan, Tim is out of the Jr. league now. He turns 17 in May. The fedora has been his signature look for the last year and a half. He never leaves the house without it. Hopefully he will not grow out of it, as I have looked everywhere for another one just like it, and have never found one. If only I had bought two when I had the chance!

Off Rowing For A Bit

Post by gjmiller » December 18th, 2010, 1:25 pm

Unfortunately, I was knocked off the holiday challenge last week. I went into a public bathroom, tried to open a stall door, and the entire metal door broke off the hinges and landed edge-on onto the top of my foot. :o It wasn't broken, but the swelling and bruising is nasty. I tried rowing after it, and rowed for 5555, but couldn't walk later in the day. Now, I'm off until it heals. Bruising is going back from black to purple, so hopefully it won't be too long. Glad to see all the reindeers in our stable, though!
