looking for a used concept 2 C or D

Post by rich45 » December 14th, 2010, 4:51 pm

Boston area.
Our freshman son has made the switch from HS football and track to collegiate rowing. We are thrilled! Thus, we are looking for a used machine for him to train on during the holidays and summer when he is home. Help! We can travel in the area to pick up the machine. Depending on the cost, we might also pay shipping.

As you probably found out, these sell VERY fast, and savvy sellers typically sell them for about the same price as they originally paid. For example, a used model D can sell for $750-800, while a model C can fetch $600. Many of the folks on here have stories of finding them on yard sales or via craigslist for a fraction of that cost ... but you'd really have to dig around to find something for "a steal".

Here was a pretty good deal on a model D I recently saw on Craigslist, although it would need to be shipped:

If it's any consolation, any concept2 erg you purchase will hold its value extremely well, so you could always resell it with little loss after your son graduates or stops rowing.

Thanks so much for the responses. The coach found a used one for us through his network. All the best...
