Woohoo! FIVE reindeer have been freed up for sleigh duty! Congratulations, Vixen...I mean Danno, and Comet (aka Will S)! There's still a lot of reindeer out there for us to get in exchange for some Holiday Challenge meters! ]

There I was, rowing away on our erg valiantly rowing for the COMET reindeer straw when the love of my life (LOML) came in from work wondering aloud if we should have Indian, Pizza, or Sushi for din dins.

'Sushi' I cried 'but I'm only 4000 away from the Comet straw!'

'But I want Sushi NOW!' said the LOML.

Needless to say, I had to relinquish my quest for the COMET straw (which was claimed by Will) and go order sushi

. . . being CUPID is cool . . .

Congratulations, AJ, on achieving the 100K mark for the Holiday Challenge boards -- and so freeing up yet another reindeer. And for making a wise choice. Donner and Blitzen straws are still out there - and then there's all those reindeer without names.....

The reindeer names can be quite confusing.
Yet, rhyming their names can be so amusing.

So here's a short poem to help you remember.
The best time to repeat this is in mid December.

There are eight names to repeat, and we'll start with the first.
This name is like running inshort little bursts.

It's Dasher the reindeer, the fastest of all,
A quick tiny reindeer, but not very tall!

There is Dancer the danciest dancer of all,
Dancing about and having a ball!

And Prancer like Dancer prances all day,
Driving elves crazy, but what can they say?

While Vixen plays tricks on all the reindeer,
Mix'n their sleigh bells and having no fear!

Don't forget Comet with a smile all the while,
You can see the teeth glow from even one mile.

And Cupid the dreamer who day dreams the most,
Waiting for Christmas and Holidays roasts.

But Donner is jumping about on the snow.
Eager for Santa and the reindeer to go!

Finally, Blitzen with mittens of gold lace and holly,
Is happy, and zappy and oh, so jolly!

Oh, yes don't forget Rudolf with that nose red and bright,
Shining his nose through the thick of the night.

Richard 2,000 m (collar bone healing well ?)

Actually it was not my collar bone but four broken ribs (multiple breaks in one) that have kept me off the rowing machine for the last three months. Still a bunch of pain from tissue damage between the rib bones but overall doing well.

Time to get back in the game (but carefully). Rowing again after three months is like starting over again. 2k felt like 10k.
