Since Brother Jim is constitutionally incapable of tooting his own horn, I will do it for him. He has over 4.7 million meters, and most likely will hit 5M by the end of November. He's still #9 in the WORLD for erg meters this year (averaging 23,367 a day!)
COUNTDOWN: 12 days and 279,773 meters to go to 5MM. Jim needs to average 23,314 a day to hit it before November ends!

brotherjim,
Thanks for the recognition!
...and thanks for all the work you do keeping us up to speed and motivating us on a daily (sometimes daily+) basis. It is a lot of work to keep track of all the numbers, milestones & such, and I just wanted to give you a tip of my hat for your efforts.

Greetings team!
I just joined the team and signed up for the next challenge. I've been rowing with the Black Warrior Rowing Club
http://www.blackwarriorrowingclub.com/ since it's inception in the summer of 2008. Erging on the Concept 2 became a constant part of my life training for the fall head races in 2009. The 2009 winter challenge really sucked me in. I try to get at least 5 workouts a week in at the local "Y". I hit my one million meter mark last week!
Just wanted too get an introduction in....GO TEAM!!!!

Pat, you are the #1 TimbukTooian and always will be. Izzz is motivating me too.
Welcome Jamie to our challenge team and affiliation team!!!! Glad to have new members. And remember, just row what you can, when you can, and how much you can. There is never any pressure here, just try and motivate health wise a bit since I am such a mess.
We seem to have some elite athletes on TimbukTOO. I noticed Cathie is first in her age/weight for HM time. Ray is way up there in the 10K and FM. And of course Izzzz is among the leaders in most of the rankings. If there are more, please let me know as I haven't gone through the entire list.
Have a great day.

Holiday Challenge 2010
November 25–December 24
Looking for a little extra motivation to row or ski this holiday season? Then look no further! Our Holiday Challenge is for you!
Row or ski 100,000 meters or 200,000 meters between November 25 (U.S. Thanksgiving) and 11:59 p.m. ET December 24
You do not need to be on a team to participate! Log your individual meters.
Indoor Rower and SkiErg pieces all count towards your total (no on water/on snow meters please)
Kid's Holiday Challenge allows kids (aged 16 and under) to participate at 50,000 meters
Adaptive athletes can choose to participate at the 50K, 100K, or 200K levels
Deadline for entering meters: January 4th, 2011
For every person who rows or skis at least 100K during the challenge, Concept2 will donate $.02 for every kilometer (1000 meters) you accumulate to one of three charities, and once you get beyond 100K, we'll donate $.04 per kilometer.

Jim, according to my braniac calculations, did 25,610 meters. (That means he not only watched the movie, he watched some of the extras too... LOL)
COUNTDOWN: 11 days and 254,123 meters to go to 5MM. Jim needs to average 23,102 a day to hit 5MM before November ends!

Pat said: "I tried to get the team deleted but it just never went away.It is called Second Wind."
Didn't your mother ever tell you it's not polite to break Wind in public?
My HM was "long and steady" (L3), an endurance piece and not a speed piece. I held my heart rate at 120 throughout, which meant 1:56/500m at the beginning, but 2:08.2 by the end. I finished in just over 1:27:17. My tank must've been low (I'd done a HM 3 days before, and a PB hour the night before), because I hit the wall with about 1K to go, and I've been tired the whole day today.
Pat, glad you're getting back on the rower steadily, but not pushing it. My heroine!
IZZ-MAZZ? As Clinton would say, it depends on what your definition of Izz is...
