Yowzer! I just noticed as I posted my meters for today that I must not have hit the add button when I entered in my meters on 10/30. So I put them in just now. You are really on top of things, K2.

The whole family rowed today. Both Tim and Ben had an entry written in their log books from way back that I had not logged online, so they both are showing two days of rowing with this first posting of the 2011 season.

Never too early to start thinking about your personal goals for the Holiday Challenge. For many, this is the first challenge they will tackle....and it can be daunting to start from low daily meters to the amounts necessary to reach 100K or 200K and beyond. If you start working on a gradual increase of meter totals now....... :D

Holiday Challenge - Here's Concept2's detailing of the next challenge !

"Looking for a little extra motivation to row or ski this holiday season? Then look no further! Our Holiday Challenge is for you!

The Details
■Row or ski 100,000 meters or 200,000 meters between November 25 (U.S. Thanksgiving) and 11:59 p.m. ET December 24
■You do not need to be on a team to participate! Log your individual meters.
■Indoor rower and SkiErg meters only (no on water/on snow meters please)
■Kid's Holiday Challenge allows kids (aged 16 and under) to participate at 50,000 meters
■Adaptive athletes can choose to participate at the 50K, 100K, or 200K levels
■Deadline for entering meters: January 4th, 2011

Support a Good Cause with Your Meters!

As in the past two years, we have selected several charities to choose from for those who wish to allocate their meters to a good cause. This year, the theme is water—protection of this resource for both health and conservation.

For every person who rows or skis at least 100K during the challenge, Concept2 will donate $.02 for every kilometer (1000 meters) you accumulate to your choice of the following organizations:

■Water For People
■International Rivers
■charity: water

And once you get beyond 100K, we'll donate $.04 per kilometer. Our goal through this group effort is to reach a total $30,000 to support these causes. The usual prizes of pin and certificate will still be awarded as well. Note: For kids and adaptive athletes, the $.04 rate will take effect at 50K.

In recent years, we have had around 5000 people participate in the Holiday Challenge! We are hoping to reach 6000 this year, so we invite you to tell your friends about this opportunity to keep fit and support a great cause."

If you go to the motivation tab, click on challenges and scroll over to the Holiday Challenge, you'll see a poster that you can download. Recruit, recruit, recruit! If you row at a gym, see if the gym will put the challenge poster up. Of course, if you can recruit some additional Luna-Tics.....gold stars for everyone!

Hi All, long time no type...

I am constantly amazed at the new team members coming on board - welcome all!
Congratulations to all the "milestoners " also... far too many to single them out, however as a fellow big-bloke I have to give a big "onya-mate!" to Brett for his fitness/ weight-loss efforts. Top stuff!
Also have to lift my hat to Big Bad Bazz and his wife for the awesome abseiling effort last month... I would have loved to been there to see it! B) B)
Thanks to K2 as usual for her tireless efforts and enthusiasm... must be time for another antipodean holiday Jan?

Best regards,
Dave

Danno hits 3 million meters!

Hooyah...he's finally booked 'em! Congratulations, Danno, on achieving a 3 million meter season! We wish you many, many more!!

And, because he is SO looking forward to earning that Concept2 goodie bag that is generously provided at the TWENTY million meter lifetime mark....and because that feat is SO close (174,000 m more)....we'll be tracking that one...

In fact, glad to track any of those kinds of milestones...you provide the number of meters you're currently away from the next biggie, and I'll plug it into the mix....
