Get the Kurt Kinetic. Tough as nails and you can return it to them no questions if it ever fails. A few days later you'll get a new one!

The Suunto Models M4,M5,t3x,T4x,T6x have the capability to upload to software.

If you wanted to be honest about it ( ), you'd put yourself in the middle of the chosen age range.

Just to be helpful, I ran the search on 48-70 lightweights and found about 30 within 20 seconds of your 2K time.

I also crunched the numbers. This gets technical so bear with me. Mike at 57 is closer in age to you than is a 70-year old. I'll recheck my numbers later.

_Very_ different.

This year, I will race fully prepared, rowing well at low drag.

I am now training to race.
While we're on the subject of racing and DNS - may I prompt you register for the Head of the Grand - it's only 17 days away and I don't want you to be disappointed about not being able to race you new boat, because you forgot to register. I know you're busy...with lots of training.

Why did your weight go up to 175+ lbs then?

Are you eating too much bad food?

Yea, it's clear.

When I am doing my UT1 work OTErg, pulling 1:44 @ 26 spm, I am doing 310 watts.

When I am doing my TR work OTErg, pulling 1:34 @ 32-36 spm, I am doing 420 watts.

The rest is just mild cross-training to maintain my weight and fitness--and improve my skills.

How about you?

Let's see. On 9/24 I did the last 1' of a 10 x 1' r32/1' at 565 watts. Screenshot available. The 6 x 500m r24/1' on 9/24 were at an average 394 watts. With the last one 417 watts. Screenshot available. The rest is just training....

Actually they should be excellent in about 3 weeks. You've been sharpening in about the same way as everyone, with about the same effect, for over a week now, so by the middle of October you'll be fully sharpened and switching to maintenance.
A plane? I thought that it was going to be on the Titanic. Iceberg-collision! - what a great excuse for a DNS..... But then there are still volcanoes with unpronounceable names in Iceland - another excellent DNS excuse.

Clearly you've missed the program change. He's going to portage the FluidDesign to Lansing (on a bicycle with no pedals), row down the Grand to Lake Michigan, row round to the Erie Canal, row the canal to Troy and from there row the Hudson to NY Harbor, take the shortcut down the Harlem River to the East River and Long Island Sound, row up that past Block Island and Newport Bay to the mouth of the Cape Cod Canal, row that up to Boston, go through the locks on the Charles on 10/17 so he can row the course solo as a demonstration (beating Mike's time), come back to Boston Harbor, and point the skiff in the direction of England.... All while losing 2.2 lbs of water weight/hour. Why, by the middle of Lake St. Clair he already should be at 0 lbs 0 oz and heading into negative weight....

How about me? I do need to lose some weight too! I run. Pounds drip off me like nothing else.

Nah.

The plan is to lose about 1% of my weight in fat per week from now until BIRC.

That will be plenty.

The plan is to sharpen hard for the next seven weeks.

Then pull a lwt 6:20 at BIRC.

I did my first double session on my bike today. Two hours, an hour this morning and an hour this afternoon. I would like to push that to 3 hours, two sessions of 90min each. I'll try that tomorrow (and on into this weekend).

At BIRC, you'll have plenty of opportunity to show exactly how bad you are, and therefore how poorly you have trained!
Take advantage!
Don't let this golden opportunity pass by to show what you can do exactly, time over distance rowed!

Cue for the usual I can't walk and chew gum at the same time: I can't do OTW regattas until I am fully trained and sharpened and do a 6:16 2K.
