I'm back!!! Haven't been around for a while, but I plan on staying. Ordinarily, I only post my meters during the January challenge, but decided to do this thing all of the time!! I'm starting to get ready a little each day with just a few thousand meters to get in shape for January. With a combination of 5000 meters per day, walking my dog and eating properly, I'm down five pounds over the last two weeks!!

Last year I took a class at Thompson's Boat Center (wash. d.c. near key bridge) to row on the water and really liked it a lot. Awesome and fun exercise. Unfortunately, it's a little far from my house to do it on a regular basis. Thus - I'll have to stick with the erg, dog walking and gym visits!!

Looking forward to January!!

I've found that over the last few years that the erg seems to be the best piece of exercise equipment for me in terms of getting in shape, weight loss, etc. I've had a model D for quite a while now and it keeps on going with no problems whatsoever.

Fall Team Challenge Update

Post by Kona2 » September 26th, 2010, 10:17 am

Fall Team Challenge 2010 Individual Standings

Woot! Woot! Great day on the erg for the Lunies! Almost 400K meters rowed!

14 Luna-Tics have now met the basic and/or advanced Challenge distances! AJ suggests that we use the distances across some of the lunar features as distance "awards" or markers in keeping with our lunar theme during the challenge season, so if anyone has some thoughts on how that could best be captured, throw those ideas out here! Something to think about while you're on that erg!

Nope, I've seen 'em come & go. HAHA

Thinking about the lunar theme, from our current vantage point enroute to the moon, we should be able to confirm the presence of the Kordylewski clouds, the theoretical collection of fine reddish brown dust particles at the Earth-Moon L4 & L5 points. Yeah,I think I can just about see them right now...
