Hi
I would appreciate any advice re getting started on fat loss
I am 6ft, 95 kilos, some muscle and good BP/Cholesterol etc. I would like to lose 7-10k and tone up to remove body fat.
I have done two sessions at my gym on a concept 2 rower
10,000 metres in 50mins and 5,944 metres in 30 mins
Wondered what is a good programme to commit to to shift the weight. I am planning for 4-5 sessions per week.
Should it be long and slow, intervals appropriate to a rower etc etc.Any thing else the newbie really needs to know before starting out?
Would value help greatly !!
Many thanks
guidance on fat loss etc

You may want to take a look over on http://concept2.co.uk/forum where there's a large group of folks sharing their weightloss stories.
You're rowing at very low power if it's taking you 50 minutes to row 10K. You should be much, much closer to 40mins for that distance or closer to 12K in 50 mins.
You probably have the damper lever set to too high a drag (damper nine is meaningless, we need to get the monitor to display the drag factor as we don't know if the machine you're using is clean or clogged with dust). If you have the drag too high then you won't be using your legs enough - rowing is 70% legs.
