The "daybreak conditional" vs the "daybreak actual"

I don't think that what I have done over the last five years has much of anything to do with my physical "gifts" or my psychology.macroth wrote:ranger is a gifted erger who needs to overcome various psychological issues to perform at his best.
He does perform at his best................... But he will not admit that. He lies about everything, every winter he builds his form from plus 7.00 to 64x.x form. But that is always the end of it. That is his formpeak which he can,t keep for long. He sharpens hard to get there, whatever that may bemacroth wrote:ranger is a gifted erger who needs to overcome various psychological issues to perform at his best.
Maybe you're right. I'm working on the assumption (with a capital ass, since this is ranger we're talking about) that he doesn't sharpen as hard as he should. Just more middling intensity RWB, which he pretty much does year round. I think that he hasn't dared to really sharpen and face the music these past few years. Maybe this year:hjs wrote:He does perform at his best................... But he will not admit that. He lies about everything, every winter he builds his form from plus 7.00 to 64x.x form. He sharpens by racing. He digs deep every race. That is sharpening, not what calls "sharpening" that would be distroying yourself.macroth wrote:Maybe you're right. It was random.redzone wrote:When Ranger did the WR rows in 2003, what was the gap allowed between weighing in and competing?
Well, just racing yourself into shape is not the best strategy. I'm not saying he should do what he calls sharpening, but he could certainly improve his preparation before racing season.hjs wrote:

What he does during the summer I don,t know, but looking at his his recent pics, he certainly does not work out 3 hours a day. You can,t become that fat in so short a time doing that much work. I think he just plays around a bit no more. Good thing he does, if he really did what he says he would never be able to keep going for so long. He simply lies about verything. Which in itself is not easy to do.
Not fat fat, but for someone who needs to be at 10% at age 60 he is fat. at least 20% bodyfat and he ways 83/84 kg in the pics he shows.macroth wrote:
And while I share everybody's doubts about his LW status, BF% and overall training volume, he's not exactly fat. No need to exaggerate, he does it well enough on his own.![]()
Yea, 6:20 is my goal for BIRC.macroth wrote:I for one am interested to see if he can row sub 6:40 within the next year or so.

I know that time behaves strangely in your garage (must be the black hole created by your numerous ranked IND_Vs), so just to be accurate you have 11 weeks and two days ahead of you. Good luck for your 6:37 2K. Eyes on the prize!Three months of sharpening to do before the end of November.

Veteran races are early in the big events--WIRC (6:30) and BIRC (6:28).redzone wrote:When Ranger did the WR rows in 2003, what was the gap allowed between weighing in and competing?
For BIRC and CRASH-Bs if your race is at 9:00am the very latest time you can weigh-in and get a LWT stamp is 8:00am. Weigh-ins start 2hrs before at 7:00am. That's to stop folks sweating it off and not having enough time to rehydrate, thus putting themselves at risk of a trip to A&E (or the ER as you call it).ranger wrote: Weigh-ins usually open at 7 a.m. and races are usually around 9 a.m.
In my 2003 USIRT trial (6:29), I weighed in just a few minutes before I raced.
