Want me to post a screen shot?
And I am faster than you at 5k... There is absolutely zero chance of you reducing the pace by 10 sec per 500 and doubling the time.t doesn't make the least bit of sense to even say something so insincere...
When I was 53, I did 60'r20 @ 1:52, at max drag, without even knowing how to row.
That predicts a 6:28 2K, which I also did.
I pulled 6:29.7 for 2K when I was 55, without even preparing for it.
Did you?
As I remember, you pulled 6:45, fully trained.
I now row well at low drag (118 df.).
Good technique makes a difference in rowing.
Decline with age is about a second per 500m over five years.
So?
Now, rowing badly at max drag, I should pull 1:53 or so for 60'r20.
But I no longer row badly at max drag.
I row well at low drag.
Because of this, 60'r20 @ 1:49 is entirely possible.
What is "insincere" about mentioning the possibility?
Nothing at all.
To be sincere, I don't have to be as slow as you are.
Or if I do, I am happy to be so insincere.
If you can do 1:42 for 2K, you should be able to do 1:57 for 60'r20, if the row is maximal.
That's exactly the 10.8 SPI that you did for 30min at 19 spm.
60'r20 is done at 2K + 15.
