Masters Nationals 2010 (New Jersey)

No, ergs don't yet float, but some of us do, and here's where you get to discuss that other form of rowing.

Congrats on the big win, Mike! Great race, from what I saw you won by a length on some pretty shitty water.

...thanks
............and then the water got worse for the final.
....................THe 6 of us were sitting there, waiting our turn to get locked-in to the stake boats...just laughing at out plight.

Definitely a low-rate situation... I got off the line ahead and soldiered on through the slop.
John Pauls put up a valiant fight but fell short... I look forward to facing him again tomorrow in the LWT E 1x race..

Good work again. I saw you miff one catch, but a cleaner race overall today. Greater margin of victory too!

Do you have any more races?

Good Job Mike! No surprises there! Times still look pretty slow but obviously you can handle the rough water.
Kick butt tomorrow

Got some good press for me and my club (Upper Valley RF, Hanover, NH)
http://row2k.com/events/features.cfm?ID=158

Yes I really did muff a stroke today. I wanted to try my regular rigging in the slop. It wasn't a particularly wise choice... But it did give me an advantage in the last 20-30 strokes of the race where the water flattened out a good bit...

Most all of us were quite tired from prior racing in the last 24 hrs. John Pauls had just come off the water with a big win in a 4x. I salute Ed Ryan and John Rich (Silver and Bronze) they both sculled extremely well. We were in lanes 1,2,& 3 so it was a true boat race and a hard fought contest.

I race at 9 am tomorrow in a hwt E 2x w/my friend TIm Willsallen of Casacadilla (Ithaca, NY). This will be yet another tough contest... top 3 to go to the final in the PM.

Sunday in the PM I have a finals only Lwt E 2x w/John Pauls (London, Ont.... and Fluid Design mgr.)

Thanks for all the kind words.....
