Thanks, all, for the birthday wishes -- and birthday song!

Image Canoeing on the lake - great experience! Grand Lake = 400 ft deep (after a certain amount, it probably doesn't matter), 1 mile in width, 1.5 miles long.

Season meters as of 86/365 = 14,752,058 m

Total meters on the day = 210,469 m

Oars in space (particiption) = 23 percent

MILESTONES...Bragging Rights...Celebrations:

1.7 MM Will S
300K Ted
200K Mitch J

Image Red Giant for Will S with a posting of 68,069 m!
Image Half moon plus some for Ted C-G with a posting of 24,000 that propels him over the 300K mark
Image Half marathon for Chris

Thanks to all today's crew for all the kinds of meters!

Rich 3,100 m
Peter G 5,000 m Image
David T 6,000 m
Tim 7,014 m
Gail 10,000 m
Steven L 10,000 m
Mitch J 10,602 m
Rodrigo 13,402 m
Baz 14,113 m Welcome back!
Wild Bill 18,054 m
Chris 21,097 m
Ted 24,000 m
Will S 68,069 m

And in the "here's something new" department: Mike E of the Timbuktoo team (thanks for posting this Mike aka Dr Espo) posted a reference to something called a shox box that is designed to work with the Concept2 erg - and absorb a lot of the compression shock that one gets while erging. Check out the website for this - it's interesting. http://www.shoxbox.biz

Keep the flywheel turning! Row row row!

BAZzy - Hopefully some day I will paddle in Australia. Your country is on our ToDo list. And thanks for allowing us Luna-Tics to follow along on your Landy adventure. Enjoyed it!

Kona2 - Grand Lake and Grand Views!

Duluth is again being graced with the arrival of 8 tall ships for this coming weekend. There were some interesting articles in the Sunday paper, so here is the link. An especially good one is the Tall Ship Primer located on the right side of the page boxes as Related Information.

Belated Happy Birthday to Kona. Hubby had a nice day too, but didn't get to go canoeing. Lots of meals out with family and friends.

I tried rowing yesterday and today, Going slow but it still bothers me a bit, so I may try every other day. But I didn't enter any meters till today, so the results will be for 2 days. Doing lots of stretching and yoga too.

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 7.26.10

Post by Kona2 » July 27th, 2010, 10:25 am

On the horizon......15 million team meters.....sometime today!!
Will S is getting closer to the start of a TWO million meter countdown, Steven L is close to 600K, Peter G is leaning on the 400K marker and Tim P is almost to 300K ! Some significant milestones coming to the LunaTics team in the near future!

Image Thanks for the update, Gina - and for the good reminder about stretching pre and post workout. Hope all is well soon! Here's a link to some of Concept2's recommended stretching exercises:
http://www.concept2.com/us/training/bas ... tching.asp

Image Dog Days of Summer are also just around the corner. The weekly build of additional meters outlined in the Dog Days four week summer program is another good practice - even if you've rowed a lot of meters in previous months, you may have to gently build additional meters as you ramp back up to your desired daily or weekly meters.

Season meters as of 87/365 = 14,928,220 m

Total meters on the day = 176,162 m

Oars in space (participation) = 26 percent Image

MILESTONES...Bragging Rights....Celebrations:

100K Wild Bill

Image Will S with a half moon and 22,156 m
Image William H with a half moon and 21,828 m
Image Dan with a half moon and 21,178 m

Thanks to everyone who rowed today !

K2 5,000 m
Mike C 6,029 m
Gina 6,560 m
Rick 6,590 m
Laurie 7,000 m
Steven L 7,202 m
Peter G 7,500 m
Kristine 10,883 m
Tim 11,165 m
David T 12,000 m
Darryl 14,511 m
Chris 16,530 m
Dan 21,178 m
Wild Bill 21,858 m
Will S 22,156 m

Have a great rowing day - whenever and wherever you row! Blue skies all around!!

For those who might be interested in reading a report about my recent Quetico canoe trip, here is the link. I finally got a rainy day earlier this week that forced me indoors long enough to finish this up. http://www.paddling.net/message/showThr ... id=1311150
