Just checking in, and catching up on all the postings since the end of June when we left on our epic roadtrip. Tim, Ben and I made it as far south as the El Camino Real International Heritage Center, south of Socorro, New Mexico. Now we are just a few days from home, in Green River, Utah.

Congratulations to all the milestones reached while we have been traveling. And welcome back to all the Mateys who are back on the team for the year. Sorry to hear about your injury, Gina, (but now I have hope to catch up to you after taking this big vacation off the rower. :D )

Thanks Chris,
So far the day has been interesting. I just finished installing a new battery backup/surge protector when a huge electrical storm hit and the power went off. It also put a bit of a damper on those ribs I had in the new smoker. Lightening and I don't mix very well after JC's little adventure a couple of years ago. So I stay indoors while it is flashing. It's about over so the cooking can resume. Actually the cooking never stopped just the watching, so I guess I should say the watching will resume.

Here is a little sample of lightening storm in Florida.

YIKES, indeed. That youtube clip looks like the beginning of a WWII movie. Your east coast electrical storms and Barbara's pest scare are making me think less critically, for the moment, about our west coast earthquakes and anarchy!

And, now, back to that soccer game ...
