Mmmm I guess you just keep on posting to get a reaction out of people.If one post doesnt work you try 3 or 4.
A quick look at the WR for the 60min has no one even close to 19K, even Drysdale "only" managed 18,128M and one of those "useless English" by your definition, an obvious nobody called Graham Benton only managed 18,221M.
You just continue to pull numbers out of a hat.

This only suggests that neither Drysdale nor Benton will pull a lightweight 17.3K for 60min (in 30 years or so) when they are 60 years old.
That seems to be a good bet.

Especially at my age (60 years old), if you row well and do a substantial amount of training (e.g., 20K a day), rowing restructures your musculature.

So by applying your logic, when you were a 20-30 year old you would have been rowing a 19K 60min ?

But, sure.
If I pull 17.3K when I am 60, the implication is that I could have pulled quite a bit more when I was 20, no?
The normal decline with age is a second a year over 2K, 2.5 seconds per 500m per decade.
That's 10 seconds per 500m over four decades.

To the best of my knowledge, you have not pulled a lwt. 60 minutes and posted it in the rankings. You are close to 9 years older and have, to my knowledge, not posted another 60' on the C2 ranking.

This three seconds per 500m over 2K is right about the same improvement that Mike VB has been looking for (but failing to achieve) in order to equal Rocket Roy's 55s 2K WR on the erg and win the Head of the Charles OTW. Mike pulled 6:50 at WIRC 2010 but Rocket Roy's WR is 6:38. Yes, that's a big gap, but not a mile and a half (over 60min).
600m is still quite a bit, though.
Four seconds per 500m over 60min.
Three seconds per 500k over 2K.

So in and around this forum, what I have been working with is not unusual at all in terms of a gap between accomplishment and (assumed) potential within a given complex of goals, training routines, pbs, recent performances, etc.
This three seconds per 500m improvement over 2K (a couple of seconds a year, give or take) is just about what Mike Caviston achieved following his Wolverine Plan in the five years before he turned 40 and set the 40s lwt WR on the erg.

This training, 1:47 @ 24 spm, is a perfect blend of heart/rate, rate, pace, and stroking power for my everyday rowing.
To reach my goals for next year, I really don't have to do anything else all summer long.
The rate is neither high nor low, which makes it perfect for concentrating on technique. I do best when I get maximal compression and really let lhe wheel spin as I decelerate on the recovery into the catch. This sets up big legs on the drive.
The stroking power is my 2K target, 12 SPI.
The pace is my 30K target, UT1 for a 6:28 2K.
My HR is in and around 160 bpm, which is significantly challenging, well above UT2, but at the same time comfortably under my anaerobic threshold.
So, all I have to do is work this rowing out to two hours, my target for a session.
This is great training for a 6:28 2K on September 1st, before I start sharpening for BIRC 2010.
I am lovin' the low drag (123 df.).
This is Caviston's Level 3.
