Ranger's training thread
Re: Ranger's training thread
Wow.
Are there really no goalies in England?
As I remember, my 10-year-old son defended better than that.
Embarrassing stuff.

Has English soccer gone the way of English erging?
What?
At WIRC 2010, the whole English team won just one medal, and even so, a silver?
Yikes.
Ridiculously bad.

Yet those very same english ergers managed to travel 4000 miles to get there whilst you sat at home in the good ol USA because you are shit scared of racing in the big events. You are a malodorous wanker of the highest order.I do hope you turn up to BIRC.I will tell you so in person

Bullshit. That was two years ago.You don`t even remember your own lies anymore.Do you remember posting how you had deceided not to go this year because in your words "you had already won and so had Mike VB. You then posted what can only be described as the rantings of madman for about six continuous posts. You were either drunk or strung out on caffine! Now Im quite sure that our arbiter of common sense and the man who slices through your lies and bullshit will find out for us.It wont make pretty reading for you but we will all laugh.Step forward Byron. Its time to your scapel out and prick Baron Fuckwits balloon...Again

Last year, I didn't qualify for WIRC.
So it goes.
Ni, I am not going to pay $1000 to go do an erg race when I haven't even been preparing to race.

I would win a dozen seconds cause I never race drunk.....ranger wrote:Yea, and don't know about you, but I get about a dozen seconds over 2K from racing sober.hjs wrote:Wasn,t that the year he was drunk every race he erged?"
So my 6:29.7 that year, done sober, could have been 6:17.7, if I could have dodged the grapes and hops.
Nice!

You did not pull 6.27 that ywear but 7.27, that alcohol is not doing your brain much good....

Your memory is the embarrassing bit -- you can't even remember that you had two separate bets with Henry, and you lost the first one and have yet to pay. Also seem to have trouble remembering all of those 7+, DNS, DNF results when talking about your race record. One of these years maybe you'll remember to do your sharpening and distance trials before race season rolls around, though I doubt it.
If your son learned how to tend goal from you, he probably should have worn the opponent's jersey

Please refrain from prognostications as you've got a poor record here.
Remember the Winter Olympics?
You said Canadian hockey was pathetic.
What happened? Both men and women won GOLD, that's what.
Also, if Engilish erging fans are anything like English soccer fans, I would be very, very careful at BIRC.
It's very, very, very foolish stirring up a bees' hive before taking their honey.
Hopefully, England, like Canada, will win and your ungracious jibes will be forgotten.
Sorry for straying off topic, but I do want you healthy and that you accomplish your erging goals.
Best that you stick to your erging and prep your etiquette before going off to BIRC.

And to think that those simpeltens would read an erging forum is also way to much creditCitroen wrote:No danger there because football thugs are brainless morons and he won't turn up anyway.wgr wrote:Also, if Engilish erging fans are anything like English soccer fans, I would be very, very careful at BIRC.
Ps Although the thought of the nutty pro dressed in a German uniform in the middle of a Brittish herd of footballfans, makes me giggle........
Re: Ranger's training thread
By being a little more patient at the catch (letting the wheel spin), a little more explosive with my back, and a little quicker with my arms, I have settled my normal 1:48 @ 25 spm to 1:47 @ 24 spm.
That's perfect.
Right at 12 SPI.
Now, I just need to do this Level 3 rowing every day, all summer long, working the distance out to 30K, or even a full marathon.
If I can row my 2Ks next year at 12 SPI, the game is won.
1:47 @ 24 spm is UT1 for a 6:28 2K.
If I can do this rowing with a HR of 160 bpm or so, this would give me room to get to my target of 1:44 at my anaerobic threshold (172 bpm).
123 df.
Stroke feels great.
I am also working into two-hour bike rides as my daily bout of cross-training.
That's perfect, too.
This cross-training is keeping my weight down and my fitness sky-high.
Yesterdyay, the little gizmo on my bike said that I was spinning at 32 spm.
I gush sweat for two hours.
No more low rate (Level 4) rowing (LTR Learn to Row).
No need.
I now row well.
1:47 @ 24 spm (12 SPI) is pretty gritty work for a 60s lwt.
The 60s lwt hammer row at WIRC 2010 was done at 1:46/7:04.
At 35 spm, 12 SPI is 1:34/6:16 for 2K.
The 60s hwt WR for 60min is 1:47.5/16.8K.

Surely not that great a goal if you've apparently already achieved it. Unless, of course, your previous post was in error...ranger wrote:A great goal for me from now until September is to get this rowing, 1:48 @ 25 spm (11..1 SPI), down to UT2
