Kona2 - I'm at home, but also starting to prepare for an upcoming 9 day Quetico canoe trip about 5 weeks from now. I don't normally row on Sunday's when I'm home unless its challenge time or if I happen to be wide awake at 5AM. To row on Sunday and fit all my other routine Sunday activities in, I must arise at 5AM, rather than my usual 6AM. Most Sundays I don't set an alarm for that to happen, preferring to get that extra hour of sleep.... But my wife and I are considering a 4 day get-away for the this coming weekend (maybe to Door County), so it might be a short rowing week for me. We will see what develops.

Chris - Thanks much for the update on BG.

BG - I know your upbeat attitude and strong nature will help you heal fast.
Sending many wishes
to make sure it won't be long,
until you'r up and well,
feeling fine and strong!

thanks for the update on Barb, will keep her in my prayers.

learning about the rifles, strainers, etc on the rivers makes me happy I row in the safety of my own bedroom! I do like seeing the Moose's pictures though!

After 2 weeks of trying to stick to the 2K schedule, i bagged it. Too much time and it took too long to program each workout, I'm back to 35 minutes or so daily. Although the latest Concept 2 newsletter has some good training ideas which I'm thinking about. But no way am I going to Boston in Feb...I'm about 20 years too young for my time.

She had surgery last Thursday, which entailed removing her large intestine, and she is looking forward to being discharged from the hospital either tomorrow, or Wednesday. She’s delighted that she no longer has to deal with colitis, and is now enjoying food that she’s previously had to avoid. (She was also pondering what is now taking up all the space previously used by her large intestine!)

She sounds strong, and in good spirits. Not that that’s at all surprising to everyone who’s ever read her forum posts … always positive, and the first one to give a rousing “woo hoo” to team mates.

So, major “woo hoo” back at you, and speedy recovery, Barbara!
And I'll add my thanks for the update...it's a funny thing but even though I have never met anyone personally...there is a feeling of 'family' in here!

Good luck Barbara and speedy recovery!!!

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 5.24.10

Post by Kona2 » May 25th, 2010, 10:36 am

Hooyah! Milestones everywhere!! And, there's just the glimmer of that big FIVE million team meter marker ahead....if today's a GREAT day (and it is!)....we're there!!

Blew in from Tucson yesterday....whining about landing in 50+ mph winds, though...aaaack! Still, in the scheme of things, it's a small item!

Season meters as of 24/365 = 4,727,468 m ! 94 percent of the year left - lots of time to excel !

Total meters on the day = 273,983 m

Oars in space (participation) = 37 percent

MILESTONES...Bragging Rights....Celebrations:

200K Rich M
200K Jim
200K Kristine
100K Peter G

Image A red giant for Rich M (who discovers he has not input a series of workouts)....with a posting of 76,016 m!
Image Danno with a posting of 28,204 m earns a half moon plus some
Image Will S, one of our guys in Iraq, posts a half moon's worth with 22,000 m
ImageImage Minnie with another half marathon

And thanks to all today's crew for all the meters and team support:

Peter G 2,000 m
David Image 6,000 m
Noelle 6,031 m
Mitch J 7,502 m (whoa...I'd better row some or he'll be looking in his rear view mirror)
Mike M 10,000 m
Peter H 10,000 m
Baz 12,328 m
Rodrigo 12,614 m
Jim 13,306 m
Darryl 14,269 m
Gina 15,600 m (we'll have to suggest downloadable training sessions that automatically set the monitor to Concept2...perhaps they already exist!)
Kristine 17,016 m
Chris 21,097 m
Will S 22,000 m
Dan 28,204 m
Rich 76,016 m

Have a blue sky day...breezy....not windy....=D

So glad your surgery went well, Barbara, and you are on your way to a full recovery.

Ben and I are on the train, speeding towards Milwaukee, Wisconsin right at the moment. We are taking a week-long trip to visit friends in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Probably won't be getting in any rowing which is why I worked so hard to bank up the meters before leaving.
