What units are you measuring "energy per stroke" with? Is that inverse square farads?
....
Any unit of energy can be used (calories, joules, etc.). I suggest you use Joule as unit since you also use Watts which is related.
.....
Guys guys guys...you are making it much too complicated. Farads are a unit of distance approximately 8.998 nanofarads in a kilometer. Inverse square farads are like miles per gallon (or for ergs it tells you how far you can go in a liter of gatorade). You want to express energy per stroke in square coulumbs per square farads. Sure the conversion is a bit harder but once you get used to the numbers it is just as useful as SPI.

but it is ridiculous that you attempt to row with 2/3's more energy in each stroke. :!:

13.3 / 8.0 = 1.66

The top rowers[...] row at 8 mps. Not 13.3 mps. :)

{but wait, let's conveniently ignore reality}
mps is not energy {but wait, let's conveniently ignore reality}

The trouble with nurd humor is one is usually talking to oneself.
When I saw Citreon write "..Is that inverse square farads?" I burst out laughing, then wondered if I was the only one who found it funny. (BTW there is a mistake in what I wrote, (besides writing 'in a liter' rather then 'on a liter') which you now preserved forever by quoting me, so I'll leave it for now.)

You have to blame Bob Spenger for that one. He made me laugh when he first used the inverse sq. farad on here.

How about the potzrebie equivalent?

watts/rating = (watts/3.499651)/(rating/49) = (whatmeworries/baker's MAD's). And of course, 1 hah per kovac = 1 whatmeworry....

Then there's (watts/250)/rating = donkeypower/rating = ass index....

NavigationHazard and I tried it at the same time at registration for CRASH-B in February.

It slides and is a shorter unit.
The feel is far less abrupt at the catch. I liked it but didn't inspect it very thoroughly...

Will try to find a photo...
Here's a photo.
The fan unit slides beneath the rail, if I remember correctly :shock:
Or, was it the foot stretcher? :?

I like that, but I am having a tough time trying to picture a single floating in a liter of Gatorade. Maybe it could be done if the vessel used to hold the Gatorade were the form used to make the hull of the single. Now the new erg prototype - that's a different matter. The only way I can see to work Gatorade in with that is perhaps to christen one of them with a bottle of the stuff.

Bob S.
But its easier to row in gatorade then drive in gasoline.

(apologies to all for the thread hijack)

It must be the gatorade version of the waterrower.
