Oh, heck no.

But I am better than I was two years ago.

And in two more years, I'll be better than I am now.

It wasn't me who introduced all the BS about your erg stroke being a good OTW stroke too.

You also have claimed to have sculled many-many more meters than I have in my lifetime..
You said "5 million meters"
People who have sculled that far are not novices.

Rowing the HOCR in the 60-69 category is not for novices, BTW.

Try the "Club Single" instead...

Well, sorry to say so, Mike, but if I can pull a lwt 6:16 at 60 on the erg, while you are struggling to pull 6:50, I won't be too worried about how it is ruining my chances to be fast OTW.

I'll just be happy that all the work I have put in on the erg has made me the greatest (age-group) erger in the history of the sport--bar none.

:D :D

There will be plenty of time for me to worry about how to get more boat speed when I am rowing OTW.

About 30 years?

Hey.

And I'll have a nice boat to row in, no?

"Windhover"

I am giving my Peinert to my second son, who lives just a few blocks from the boat club on the Mississippi in Minneapolis.

Colin is doing grreat.

He is finishing up a Masters Degree in Public Policy at the Hubert Humphrey School of Public Policy at the Univeristy of Minnesota.

Here's the new girlfriend.

Very true conditional statement.

But what about the 5 milion water meters? What have they done? >>> Sorry. What will they have done...?

Call Fluid. Cancel the order. The Peinert will do just fine for an erger. You need a player piano not a Steinway or a Bosendorfer

"• Bösendorfer’s “resonating box principle”, which views the whole instrument as a cohesive sound unit, produces our uniquely rich tone colour and characteristic singing timbre "

Sort of like his lwt 5k erg scores..
2 years ago = (zero)
Now he's twice as good. IOW: 2 times zero = ______ ?
And 10 years hence zero x ten = ZERO

He must be fat again...afraid of IND_V requirements... and we'll have to endure more of his "stepper" posts

Ranger Logic

CROWD: A witch! A witch! A witch! We've got a witch! A witch!
VILLAGER #1: We have found a witch, might we burn her?
CROWD: Burn her! Burn!
BEDEMIR: How do you know she is a witch?
VILLAGER #2: She looks like one.
BEDEMIR: Bring her forward.
WITCH: I'm not a witch. I'm not a witch.
BEDEMIR: But you are dressed as one.
WITCH: They dressed me up like this.
CROWD: No, we didn't... no.
WITCH: And this isn't my nose, it's a false one.
BEDEMIR: Well?
VILLAGER #1: Well, we did do the nose.
BEDEMIR: The nose?
VILLAGER #1: And the hat -- but she is a witch!
CROWD: Burn her! Witch! Witch! Burn her!
BEDEMIR: Did you dress her up like this?
CROWD: No, no... no ... yes. Yes, yes, a bit, a bit.
VILLAGER #1: She has got a wart.
BEDEMIR: What makes you think she is a witch?
VILLAGER #3: Well, she turned me into a newt.
BEDEMIR: A newt?
VILLAGER #3: I got better.
VILLAGER #2: Burn her anyway!
CROWD: Burn! Burn her!
BEDEMIR: Quiet, quiet. Quiet! There are ways of telling whether
she is a witch.
CROWD: Are there? What are they?
BEDEMIR: Tell me, what do you do with witches?
VILLAGER #2: Burn!
CROWD: Burn, burn them up!
BEDEMIR: And what do you burn apart from witches?
VILLAGER #1: More witches!
VILLAGER #2: Wood!
BEDEMIR: So, why do witches burn?
[pause]
VILLAGER #3: B--... 'cause they're made of wood...?
BEDEMIR: Good!
CROWD: Oh yeah, yeah...
BEDEMIR: So, how do we tell whether she is made of wood?
VILLAGER #1: Build a bridge out of her.
BEDEMIR: Aah, but can you not also build bridges out of stone?
VILLAGER #2: Oh, yeah.
BEDEMIR: Does wood sink in water?
VILLAGER #1: No, no.
VILLAGER #2: It floats! It floats!
VILLAGER #1: Throw her into the pond!
CROWD: The pond!
BEDEMIR: What also floats in water?
VILLAGER #1: Bread!
VILLAGER #2: Apples!
VILLAGER #3: Very small rocks!
VILLAGER #1: Cider!
VILLAGER #2: Great gravy!
VILLAGER #1: Cherries!
VILLAGER #2: Mud!
VILLAGER #3: Churches -- churches!
VILLAGER #2: Lead -- lead!
ARTHUR: A duck.
CROWD: Oooh.
BEDEMIR: Exactly! So, logically...,
VILLAGER #1: If... she.. weighs the same as a duck, she's made of wood.
BEDEMIR: And therefore--?
VILLAGER #1: A witch!
CROWD: A witch!
BEDEMIR: We shall use my larger scales!
[yelling]
BEDEMIR: Right, remove the supports!
[whop]
[creak]
CROWD: A witch! A witch!
WITCH: It's a fair cop.
CROWD: Burn her! Burn! [yelling]
BEDEMIR: Who are you who are so wise in the ways of science?
ARTHUR: I am Arthur, King of the Britons.

What have they _done_?

I don't row in order to _do_ anything at all.

I just enjoy it.

I have enjoyed my Peinert enormously, as I would any other hobby.

I am sure I will enjoy my Fluidesign even more.

You don't enjoy rowing?

What did all the running I did for 30 years _do_?

Nothing at all.

Running is just a hobby, something I like to do.

I have various other hobbies, too--gardening, guitar, piano, philosophy, evolutionary psychology and anthropology, time and temporality, music theory, poetry, poetics, languages, literature, linguistics, ethics, psychology, history and historiography, aesthetics, literary theory, canoeing, sailing, swimming, running, hiking, biking, woodsmanship (of various sorts), camping, financial systems and investing, etc.

What do these _do_?

Nothing at all.

These are just things that I enjoy.

Most of them are arts.

Arts are "purposeful purposelessness."

They are ends in themselves.

The good life.

They are having fun.

You know.

Fun?

:D :D

What's with your lack of fun?

Fun is the good life.

My son is enjoying himself.

Having fun.

The occasion is a prom at a school for the inner city kids that my son worked with for several years, connecting disadvantaged youths, often of other nationalities and linguistic heritages, with college opportunities such as admission, scholarships, financial aid, etc. The photo comes from a photo booth at the prom. The hats were provided by the photo both. The intention was fun.

Most of this forum has nothing to do with training.

It is just another internet outlet for social networking and gaming.

Social networking and gaming is a big business these days.

Concept2 is not dumb.

What is the motivation for this forum?

Cha-ching.

Cha-ching.

Cha-ching.

If this forum wasn't making money for Concept2, it would be shut down immediately.
