My nomination

Post by DuluthMoose » April 15th, 2010, 7:52 am

My nomination is "The Planets" by Gustav Holst, since I'm kind of classical.

Here's a couple:
"Walking on the Moon" by the Police, and "Next Year" by the Foo Fighters.
These past 32 days have been fun.
The new season starts in 15 days.
Row On Loonies!!!

Rowing, rowing, rowing
Those those streams are swolen
Keep them meters growing... Raw-hides
Through pain and wind and Loonies
Hell bent for moonie
Wishing my gal was by my side
All the things I'm missing
Good vittles love and kissing
Are waiting at the end of our ride

Addem up, logem in
Logem in, addem up
Addem up... Loonies

Wind it up, finish out
Finish out, wind it up
Wind it up... Looooonies.

Keep, Moving, moving, mooving
Though their disapproving
Keep them muscles moving... Raw-hides
Don't try to understand us
Just rope the Moon and land us...
Loona-tics on the darker side
My hearts speculating, my true love will be waiting
Waiting at the end of our ride

Addem up, logem in
Logem in, addem up
Addem up... Loonies

Wind it up, finish out
Finish out, wind it up
Wind it up...Loooooies

Ha!

acrewer wrote:Bored with what's on my IPOD, I listened to FM radio while I rowed today. Elton John's Rocketman played. Great song for us Lunatics! So my challenge...let's create the Lunatic Playlist - must have some 'spatial' theme

Rocketman by Elton John
Star Wars theme song
When you look at titles for songs about the moon there are songs that are for crooners’ and swooners’, some that are a little more up-tempo, and even some for the head-bangers (okay I’m a head-banger).

I’m not sure how long it would take us to row to the moon if we were all listening to Moon River, or Blue Moon (Long live the King!). They are just perfect for our arrival and as we swoon around the Jacuzzi and reflect on the journey....

But for something a little more up-tempo to help get us there, we could try....

Earth, Sun & Moon – Midnight Oil (good Aussie band! )

There’s a Moon in the Sky (Called the Moon) – The B-52s (Just the song to jive around the seat to and relieve the proverbial pain in the bum that comes with rowing long distances)

And to help belt out those last hard earned metres we could throw in.....

Next to the Moon – AC/DC, or heaven forbid....

Bark at the Moon – Ozzy Osbourne (wonder what the neighbours would say about that one!)

Clearly, I’ve too much time on my hands, time that would be better spent ERGing us to the moon! Good weekend to all, BBB

Footnote: I’ve got good neighbours! :)
