With 1,600,00m behind me, I'm experienced with verification codes. But I'm going crazy trying to enter a one-hour row I did yesterday. 14,443m done on April 4, 2010. 0345-eb79-65e4-8133. I've checked and re-checked zero vs. "D" and "8" vs. "B". The row was done to the preset time - I didn't just row for roughly an hour. My PM3 agrees the row was done on April 4, 2010.
I like seeing IND_V next to my ranked pieces. What could the problem possibly be?

Re: Trouble with Verification Code
In the message, you show the letters as lower case. Did you enter them that way for the verification procedure? That might cause a problem.djh wrote:With 1,600,00m behind me, I'm experienced with verification codes. You can get around this by entering your results directly from the LogCard to your computer. It gives you C2Log instead of IND_V, but the two are equivalent. I use a LogCard reader to do this, but it can also be done with the card in the monitor and a USB connection to your computer.

Check the clock on your PM3. Main menu --> More Options --> Utilities --> Time and Date.djh wrote:With 1,600,00m behind me, I'm experienced with verification codes. Post a screen shot. Of the workout display.
The verification code only works if you get the exact distance, right date and right elapsed time (including the tenths). Of course, getting the time right is simple for a programmed hour row 1:00:00.0.
The verification code is a crypt based on a private key stored in PM3 firmware, you can't decrypt it.
If you're not on V105 (PM3) or V308 (PM3A) firmware, try updating it to V105 or V308.
Re: Trouble with Verification Code
Thank you both. Lower case letters in the verification code are quite acceptable, Bob, but in my struggles yesterday I tried everything, including upper case letters and even (overkill here) using a different browser. Nothing worked.
I never thought of C2Log, though, as I only recently had a laptop available to plug into the PM3. I installed the software and it worked fine, as you'd expect. I don't like rankings with IND (discussed at length elsewhere) but I agree that C2Log is a perfectly acceptble substitute for IND_V. Thanks for the helpful suggestion. You could tell from my tone I was at my wits' end.
Thanks Citroën. For good measure, I upgraded my PM3 firmware from 304 to 308. I don't know if that will help. The code remains the same, but perhaps it's already stored right on the LogCard. No harm in upgrading.
I wonder if upgrading the PM3 firmware will solve a pet peave of mine. (I doubt I'm the only one who hates this.) When you row by distance and get a time, do you ever look at the log card and see that it's robbed you of (i.e. added on) a tenth of a second? This seems like a very grave injustice when I'm panting to the point of heart failure and dripping with perspiration. There are other rounding issues. Even the calculation of average pace seems to suffer from poor rounding.

Re: Trouble with Verification Code
Hey looks like you also need to enable the BBCode in your profile to enable your signature to work as well.
Upgrading your firmware also sets your time & date so it is correct. You may now find the verification works just because this is now correct or more accurate than it was.
