The Two Types of Training

BTW, our age and weight divisions differ by 9 seconds per 500.
So, my rowing 1:43 @ 29 spm (10 MPS) is like you rowing 1:34 @ 32 spm (10 MPS).
Good luck with it.

Mike--
I'll be out camped on the Connecticut River for the last two weeks in June.
If you want to get together for a row, give me a call.
My cell phone is 734-478-0075.
I am usually out on the water by 5 a.m. in the summer, done by 8 a.m.
Great time to row, with the sun blazing over the horizon.
I'll probably be doing a second session, in the afternoon, on the erg.
Happy to have you join me for that, too.
Give me a ring.
I'll be up in the Jacob Brooks campground, in Orford, a few miles north of Hanover, on the Connecticut.
Nice place: wi-fi, swimming pool, showers, electric hook-up, etc. I'll just pitch my tent for $20 a night.
I'll be there, June 15th-30th.
It will be fun rowing on the Connecticut for a couple of weeks.

I thought you had to do the FM trial and get the pb before you do the HM trial and get the pb, and you had to do the HM trial and get the pb before you do the 60 minute trial and get the pb, and you had to do the 60 minute trial and get the pb before you do the 10K trial and get the pb, and you had to do the 10K trial and get the pb before you do the 6K trial and get the pb, and you had to do the 6K trial and get the pb before you do the 30 minute trial and get the pb, and all this had to happen before a 5K trial can even be tried or else the cosmic balance would be upset.ranger wrote:... I am sure that Henry will pay his debts when those payments are due, which is not long now.
The $2000 I will win from Henry will finance my trip to New Hampshire for two weeks to row on the Connecticut.

I won't be doing a FM, 1:43 @ 29 spm.JimR wrote:I thought you had to do the FM trial and get the pb before you do the HM trial and get the pb, and you had to do the HM trial and get the pb before you do the 60 minute trial and get the pb, and you had to do the 60 minute trial and get the pb before you do the 10K trial and get the pb, and you had to do the 10K trial and get the pb before you do the 6K trial and get the pb, and you had to do the 6K trial and get the pb before you do the 30 minute trial and get the pb, and all this had to happen before a 5K trial can even be tried or else the cosmic balance would be upset.ranger wrote:... I'll do a FM, 1:48 @ 25 spm.
My first go at 1:43 @ 29 spm will be 5K.
Then I'll try to lengthen that to 10K, 15K, and 20K.

$2,000 is NOT a small amount of money and you owe it!

What I do from April 15th to September 15th is not vacation; it's unemployment.JimR wrote:So how is it you can afford vacations
I would love to work, but the University can't afford to hire me.
I am not on a 12-month contract.
If I were, as many admistrators are, I would be at work in the summer and would be paid almost twice as much.
Spending $20 a night to camp out with the bugs for two weeks is really living it up, eh?
At least the park has showers and a pool so that I can wash off the sweat when I am done rowing and erging each day.
The rowing and erging costs nothing.
I'll be happy to crash early in the evening so that I can be back out OTW at 5 a.m.

But when I hit my targets, Henry will.
I am sure he will pay up.
He knows how serious these things are for your reputation.

I can't believe that stuff is available on the public internet. Have you folks in Leftpondia never heard of privacy and data protection? And I thought the UK was good at losing personal data like a leaky sieve.jliddil wrote:Certainly not making a killing:

He works at a state funded university. In leftpondia this is public information which if not on the internet can be obtained from the university.
