Good luck with it.

It ain't over till it's over, Mike.

Rabbits generally fade.

Their show is superficial.

Turtles generally win.

Their show is substantial.

Wackadoodle. Graham Benton has rowed farther for 60 minutes than anyone on the planet. He's also one of the 10 or so fastest humans ever over 2k. Only in Rangerworld could that kind of bookend be considered "massively unbalanced." And until somebody proves otherwise by going farther, by definition Graham's 60 minute row is the standard of what's humanly achievable. At any rating, spi or MPS combination.

As for GB's alleged "problems" on the water, I suggest you show up at Tideway Scullers' School and offer to seat-race him for a place in their viii. When they're done laughing at you maybe you can try to race seat-race Rocky or Rambo instead. When they're done laughing at you you can sit on the dock with them and watch really really talented rowers go by. Really fast. You might learn something from watching them.

In other words, he never does any real distance rowing at all.
Naturally. That's why his name shows up at the head of the list for the WRs for 60 minutes and HM (his HM mark is nearly 2 minutes faster than the next one on the list, and 10 minutes faster than the best one I saw logged by you). It only doesn't seem like a distance row to you because you are so slow by comparison -- GB doesn't take nearly as long to cover the distance!
He never learned to row with a light stroke and substantial rate over long distances.
Yeah, and it's turned out to be a real disaster, eh? You and Rupp...

Actually it's because he's 6' 8 or 6' 9 and 280 pounds.

He doesn't win any contests where he pulls his own weight, not even rowing a boat on the water.

Rod Freed .. 17132 meters in one hour .. 1:45.1 pace .. 2k+5.3

Current 50+ 2k wr .. Paul Siebach 6:25.1 .. 1:36.3 pace
Freed's hour at age 53 is the current 2k record + 8.8 seconds

It would be closer than this for an age 53 wr 2k performance.
Rich did a 2k in 6:28.0 at age 52.

If the age 53 mark was 6:30.0, then Freed's hour from that would be 2k+7.6 seconds.
I feel this is a good equivalency. My hour was about the same as Freed's, about 2k+5.3 seconds.

You didn't answer the question.

What does GB rate for 2K OTW in his 1x?

Uh, no. Go strap on a weight belt and see how much faster you go. Put on thick shoes and see how much faster you go. If height and weight is all it takes, why aren't you any faster when you do so? And why aren't any of the other big guys closer to Benton's results?
He doesn't win any contests where he pulls his own weight, not even rowing a boat on the water.
And yet, the GB rowing community thinks it is worth trying. Odd that no one has recognized your potential, or ranger's. Must be another C2 conspiracy against you guys

Wow what great logic. Is that what Benton does, put a concrete block on his head?

New word:

rangerwhammy

meaning subjects interdicted by himself can only be discussed by himself

Witness: Rich's aversion (at times only determined by him) to talking about performances OTW
" Ve must schtick to da errrgh-talk!"

Now we hear the GB is no good because GB can't post a stellar 2k time OTW :? :?
It would be simpler of course to just call ranger inconsistent... but that would be too pedestrian... like his 2k erg performances. My times average faster than his and I'm "no good" :D
I'd wager that if erg races were held as heats, semis and finals over three days that I'd "Kick Butt"
(no room for glory weights)

Another rangerwhammy: the current score issue... " Ve must schtick to 2010" (to avoid talking about Roy Brook)
THEN: Witness in contrast his ubiquitous 2003 2 WR talk.... hmmmm.

What part of "he rows sweep in a Tideway viii" is so difficult?

You have it bassackwards. Your slow 2k is your slow 60' minus just 5.3. Benton's fast 2k is a whopping 13.2 seconds of pace better than the fastest 60' ever done on the planet.

And while I think of it Benton is NOT "6' 8" or 6' 9" and 280 lbs." Wrong on height, way wrong on weight.
